Here are a couple of us who were on the voice chat last night:

zargon_ap
Termie_G
greginfinity

What I recommend is that you send us friend requests, and then party up with one or all of us. You can then friend the other guys who frequently party up together (I haven't named them all here, obviously).

VOIP for everyone would be great and would certainly be conducive to more teamwork, which I'd like to see. As it stands, I usually see the little groups from a clan or whatever at the top of the scoreboard, and I know it's not just because they're all running around with USAS+Frag the whole time; they get things done together.

100% Incorrect.

Lastnight, I was able to tell one of my friends via TS that an enemy guy was sneaking up to him to knife him, he was able to turn around and kill him.

Coordinating to capture flags, destroy mcoms is going to work much better than everyone being a lone wolf.
 
This game sure is fun though (when I can connect). Haven't had this much fun in multiplayer since Team Fortress 2. I find myself busting up laughing at stuff that happens all the time.

I too wonder why this game doesn't have voip built in like TF2. I could see it being wild with 32 people all yelling at the same time but if you could just limit it to your squad or something it would be great.

Slightly OT: Has anyone tried to move their Origin games folder? I switched hard drives and after moving Origin games and doing the install through origin, punkbuster doesn't work correctly. I even did the manual PB install and manual update, but it doesn't seem to actually make the changes. Every time I run pbsetup.exe, it's says its the first time PB has been installed on the system.

Any ideas?

BTW, I'm doing the reinstall because I finally picked up an Intel SSD on black friday. :awe: /brag

Try these steps if you have already installed the game.

[Origin] -> 'Settings' -> Change your 'Downloaded Games' folder to your new drive -> Move your BF3 folder to the new download target -> Refresh your games list

It should pick up the existing files and install the game without downloading more data. Change your 'Downloaded Games' to your spindle drive after and it will still use the SSD for BF3 updates.

That was what I did for my BF3 SSD install, as I have other Origin installed games spread across my SSD/Spindle drives.
 
I saw a list of the new weapons that will be included in the B2K expansion. None of them looked very appealing to me except perhaps the MP5. I wish they would add more well-known and used rifles like FN FAL, SCAR-L, FN FNC, Galil, SIG 550, UZI, etc.
 
Tank Nerfs? I don't see any tank nerfs there besides a tweak to the repair tool and more damaging blind-fired Javs.

No nerf to guided shells on choppers (working as intended? yay), instant destruction of choppers, and reduced damage to MBTs from attack choppers.

404.. nerf not found.

I had that issue until I reinstalled the game. Now my issue is with stats not getting saved. It doesn't matter if I play high ticket or regular servers, stats only get saved maybe half the time. So frustrating...

I'm pretty sure all of the B2K guns are actually from BF2, to go along with the BF2 maps. None of the guns you mentioned except the Scar-L were in BF2, and that was a Special Forces add-on, I believe.

This is exactly what I get post-patch as well. Every time. Well, maybe 98% of the time. Very frustrating, but I love the game once I'm in so I put up with it. Would like to know they are working on these issues though...

Added all of you. Not sure I'll be playing over the next couple of days as we'll be having houseguests arrive tonight, but I'll definitely send you guys a message to start a squad when I see you on.

I like all of those changes - especially that tank shells should kill anything in the air in one shot. I hope the next update adds in-game VoIP for squads!

I got a lot of this when I tried to play COOP, and thought COOP was just garbage. But I only played after the patch. Now with regular multiplayer, I get similar issues. Not as bad as with COOP, but I never had connection issues before. I used to get black screens and hard crashes, which seem mostly gone, but now this crap. Oh well, better than a hard crash.
 
Battlefieldo.com - FXAA Injector may result in PB Kicks/Bans

Recently there was a post on the EAUK Forums about a FXAA Injector that improves the visuals in Battlefield 3 without taking up any extra resources. Thanks to a tweet to a Evenbalance Developer, it appears as though using this fix may get you kicked or even banned from Punkbuster enabled servers. Like most Anti-Cheat software, your files are usually verified by a server to ensure you are not using modified files. Even if the game may look better, we advise at this point not to use it until their is more of an official word on this issue. We’ll keep you posted on this issue as more gets released.

SCAR-H and SIG553 are in the game as engineer weapons: http://bf3blog.com/2011/10/battlefield-3-weapon-list/. I know the SCAR-L is different. Don't know about SIG550.

Now that the SCAR-H is nerfed, what's the go-to engineer weapon? I've been using the G36C, but not for any particular reason other than I don't like the A91.

On the city maps, I've been running assault with the 'nade launcher. I've gotten pretty good with it - lots of fun.
 
the L is 5.56 instead of 7.62

I am using the scar for 4 more kills to service star, then back to L91 for 20 to service star, then G36, then M4a1.....

I like em all, not sure what I prefer though
