Well, my speakers are around 3-4 years old I think so it doesn't really matter to me.

But it's recommended not to update the BIOS if you're not overclocking or anything like that right? If you have a stable system, then there's no point to updating the BIOS right?

More or less. I'm on 304, but I'm not having problems so I'm just gonna sit tight.

After reading some of this thread I'm a little concerned that new motherboard / ram I've just bought won't work and I was wondering if anyone is running similar configuration ? or can reassure me it may/will work 🙂

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ (2.6ghz) Socket AM2 Dual Core (just for information)
Asus M2N-E Socket AM2 NF570ULTRA
OCZ (OCZ2P800R22GK) 2GB (2x1024MB) DDR2-800 PC2-6400 CL 4-4-4-15 PLATINUM XTC EDITION REVISION 2 DUAL CHANNEL KIT

VISTA DON't run fine with this drivers, to run vista with a good sound quality, desinstall these drivers, windows vista will install its drivers, then, just run windows update to make the hd sound drivers up to date

help ! i have a question :
When i run memtest in the dos, there is no problems, it runs fine 2 hours but when i run memtest in vista x64, there is memory errors the next minute i start memtest ! What can be suspiect ?

hmmm... I just ran memtest booting from it's own disk. Did not know there was any other way to do it. How do I run memtest in Vista x64???

Changing subject: I noticed that in Vista HCL, M2N-E is listed as "premium" for Vista x86, and "Unknown" (for me it means not compatible) for Vista x64...

asus is a joke... grrrr
there is a memtest version wich work in windows and an other version wich work on a floppy disk, the win32 version give me many errors but not the floppy disk version..... strange....,
again, i have some blue screens with the 701 bios ... too bad asus this motherboard is a joke ...

I actually switched to 0502, I was getting some BSODs pretty regularly while trying to play SRO (.NET framework issue - upgraded to v. 3), and so far, so good.

From what I've been able to gather from this thread, 0502 is the best BIOS for this board so far.

Hi,

Everything has been going fine with this board so far, (except ram voltages:|).

However, I flashed to the 502 bios, from 402, and now get some BSOD at startup.

I was hoping someone may be able to supply me with the 402 bios? As it is not listed on the Asus site anymore.

Many thanks.

Does anyone's SoundMAX control panel work? My control panel doesn't work. It only works after I install the driver. Also, regarding those driver updates a few posts earlier, are they better than the drivers on the CD?

I'm using BIOS 0103 and it's been running great. Only BSODs I get are from my D-Link wireless card. But that issue has been fixed...I think.

The new bios just seems to add some support for Vista Media Player. I can't see anything else in it.

It does seem to be stable so far, which is a relief, after losing the 402 bios, 502 and 602 were very unstable for me.

Would anyone be able to post or mail me the 402 bios? (I know I should of saved it first, but...)

Cheers

2T hangs my system up. I can't even post with 2T, so... I don't use it. Tests have showed that there isn't as big difference between 2T and 1T with DDR2s as the DDR(1) had, but of course it would be optimal to use 1T if possible.

Hello

could anyone help me, please?
I instaled this driver 1988_610016030vista
