Did you guys watch the latest Adoredtv video on toms hardware bias regarding their best cpu of the month article?
The bias is really strong with toms hardware.

Yeah, after that article im writing off toms as a paid intel shill. That was just brutal.

Adored is a huge AMD fanboy/pumper, you would be best served to get information elsewhere. He can't even seem to understand what's wrong with his so called "testing" methodology. Which is basically try different things until he gets the results he wants.

You do realise that AdoredTV has videos calling AMD out for the stupid stuff they've done too right? And he personally doesn't think Vega is going to be very good.

Yes he has a preferencial bias towards AMD because of their recent business practices in comparison to their competitors, but that's all it is. Otherwise he gives pretty good analytical reviews on hardware and leaked information and appears to be about as unbiased a reviewer as you get in this day and age.

Before you will call out anyone shill/fanboy - look in the mirror.

Im sorry, but I am tired of your attitude towards everything you do not agree with.

Does anyone think R5 1400 is overpriced? $170 seems bit much for it. $20 cheaper would have been more appropriate.

to call AdoredTV a fanboy is to not understand it's definition.

he didn't like the testing methodology of several popular techtubers and decided to dig deeper. He brought to light some interesting inconsistencies while being very transparent about his tests. But you're dismissively saying he skews results for a biased narrative...

pretty pathetic really

We need a review where everything, and I mean every component on the computer, is running at stock clocks when its tested to see exactly what the baseline performance really is. Every single computer being compared should have this baseline comparison irrespective of who its made by to eliminate inconsistencies. The very same storage devices should be used for each one to eliminate any discrepancies in throughput generated by different drives.

Anything beyond the stock baseline is icing on the cake but irrelevant when we are trying to establish stock performance like the overwhelming majority of buyers will run it at. All I can say is that my next pc will have at least 8 cores and I don't really care who's name is on it if I'm getting the performance I'm looking for.

Yes. It should be like $150.
It's priced that way because they really want you to get the 1500X or 1600 instead due to yields being good, I'm sure. If it was $150, they probably couldn't meet the demand.

On that subject, they probably should have made the 1600 and 1600X both $230. Just one comes with cooler, the other doesn't but has higher stock clocks. They seemed to be binned super closely. Same with the 1700 and 1700X.
You see a lot of sales for the 1600X and 1700X as they are priced too high when the others come with stock coolers and OC like 97% as well. I feel bad for anyone that bought a 1700X when it wasn't on sale.

That 1600 is a piece of gold in terms of value. I think there's a ton of very thrilled gamers out there who now have a beefy 6/12 chip in their gaming rigs. A similar chip used to cost around $600!!! Six. Freaking. Hundred. SIXHUNDRED!

All th the 8c stuff that dont qualify can at least be made a 1600 sans an irrelevant number. And yes hence the 4c price.
It means mostly all server stuff not fit and most hedt stuff forward. There will be ton of 1600 cpu on the market.
And i agree. With an okey cooler bundled its an absolutely stellar value. If you intend to oc go 350 mb or else just take the dirt cheap 320 road.
This looks to me like the best value since celeron 300a we had 20 years ago. The cpu can do everything and does so at a rock bottom price for mb plus cpu plus cooler. It have stellar longevity and handles a vararity of different loads. Its a very safe choice. Its insane cpu power even in a very low tdp and high efficiency.
Its what we need for pc gaming and desktop pc development.
Imo it made all 2c and 4c irrelevant. At that price everyone should try to get the next step for something that last.

I agree, that's why I bought a 1600, but the hype was so real I had to buy a n ASRock x370 K4, instead of a cheaper AB350 K4 that was completely fit for my needs :D

Nine SKUs and 3 TDP ranges?! o_O

That product stack naming is a joke. Not to mention the source.

LE: The so called "editors" of that site that shall not be named are so mixed up with their lies that they contradict themselves in 3 instances - once they specify that "Threadripper" is "180W and more", then they say "125-155W" and they close with "Up To 150W".

Classic bunch of liers that get mixed up on their own lies.

As far as I know the current number one impact on Ryzen gaming performance is Nvidia's crappy DX12 driver.
Except that worst results are in certain dx11 games so i figure you are wrong.

P. S. reaction in this thread on Adored lol, claiming he is not at least amd biased is plain ignorance.

At least he's got data to back his claims up in the case of Rise of the Tomb Raider.

And what else? That's the issue with generalization. So far i am yet to see test that reaffirms that it is observed outside of RotR.
Well that is what seems to be the problem - the tech press in general seems to take a lot of things for granted, and even dabbles in speculative arguments and hand-waving regarding things like 'driver overheads' which obviously they have no means to test.

One would have thought that DX12 CPU scaling across NVIDIA and AMD cards should be straightforward to test, but we have got very few data points to test AdoredTV's hypothesis, and hence I would not be that quick to dismiss it even if it is just one game.
