Still yo-yo time for my stocks. Yesterday was up $8K+, ended down -$1K.

Up $7K+ this morning, don’t know where it will end this afternoon.

I think I'm done for the day. I did five trades yesterday.

I don't see anything that I feel like getting behind.

Not exclusively. I day trade when I feel like it.

I prefer options. I also have a stable of long stocks, many of which pay dividends, and a large portfolio of various funds that are managed by a broker.

I'm totally out of the market.

I'm just sitting on the sidelines spectacting not speculating.

Day trading is a pain in the ass. There's a lot of juice in it at first but doing it day after day after day gets so long on the tooth. Outsiders like me have little chance of getting a jump on the big players so we're stuck in front of the monitor trying to snap up little gains. I've had days during which I made over 20 trades.

A friend of mine says "You're not looking for a wife, and you're not even looking for the prettiest whore. You're looking for the whore who gives the best blow job" and I tend to agree with him. Don't fall in love with any positions you take, and don't fear small losses. One hit can make up for 10 misses.

Those occasional homers? oh do they feel good.

I was doing that for a while too this year, but in the long run I would have made more money picking the right stock and simply holding it.

Inversely though, you could have made other plays with that money in that time and made the same or more (or lost..of course). Day trading is too much like gambling to me. I do it, but minimally, work just doesn't give me the time to eyeball stock prices all day. I've made some nice plays here and there though.

Anyone looking to make a quick buck might want to watch OLED at open Monday. I've been studying the stock and I think at least a small bounce is very possible.

If you have enough liquidity or margin to buy 1000 shares you could make a few grand very easily in a short time period.

As always - watch the pre-market and don't buy at open. Let things shake themselves out.

And my advice is worth what you pay for it.

Feeling any FOMO yet? Missed some big up days.
The big problem with being on the sidelines is watching the gains. The moment when you can't take it anymore and you put money in, the market falls.

Yeah I feel your pain. I'm sitting on some cash and it looks like I will be sitting for some time. The market just didn't drop enough after Jan. 29th. I kept waiting for a bigger fall. Today I'm $9K over my all time high which was Jan 28th.

Every single company I'm looking at keeps rising and rising. I always try to buy a bit under the daily high but it never works cause it hits a new high the next day. Netflix and Amazon spiked today. I ended up going in on Tencent Holdings/Wechat.

I sold OLED for around 131.90. It couldn't hold 132.

I decided not to hold it overnight. I have no idea what tomorrows's opening will look like.

Still a fat trade. I'm happy. Did anyone take my free cheese?

I paid my taxes. The government took my cheese. :(

That was about as easy money as you can get in the market.

Maybe I'll post another one someday. A person can never have enough cheese.

So where ever possible, I elect to reinvest dividends. At what point does an investment become too large of a percentage of your total portfolio?
