Ways to play this year for the home gamer:

Domestic Small Caps (increasingly strong dollar shouldn't affect these companies as much as the multinational large cap companies as small cap business are more US based).

Europe (QE in Europe is great for this downtrodden market).

Volatility will continue for the rest of the year aside of the two areas listed above.

Do your research. Read articles. Look at the YTD. See where the big money is moving.

WTI $ 43.68

Down and Down it goes ...

.

Thank you illogical, emotional trading for pushing WTI up past $50 and allowing me to sell half my oil positions so I at least will have lube for the coming trashing.

The market will remain irrational longer than you will remain solvent.

A lot of young biotech stocks have no revenue but what is fundamental to them is their potential, so it depends on how you value them. There is some good threads in the stock message boards in support of the stock, and large investors have moved the price up from $2.50 to nearly $13 so far this year.

I also agree with Adam Feurenstein, who has been covering pharma / biotech stocks for many years at TheStreet.com. I have read his stories on occasion going back to at least 2001 on many names. His has been able to pick and pan some of the winners and losers in this field. Recently he wrote favorably about Advaxis. http://www.thestreet.com/story/1302...cer-immunotherapy.html?puc=yahoo&cm_ven=YAHOO

ADXS is VERY VOLATILE 5 day chart:

adxs1.JPG

Its 52 week high was near $13, giving it a $300MM valuation. Adam also noted that ADXS has a very low valuation in relation to its peers making it relatively attractive. They are scheduled to give an investor presentation and update the first week of February that might bring more interest / appreciation.

Another player will enter the field later this year when Aduro Biotech goes public which is expected to fetch a much higher price. This could cause more share appreciation as sector stocks tend to rise in sympathy up to and during IPOs.

I think ADXS will see $20 - $30+ in 2015, which is a double / triple form today's closing price of $10. Im going all in on this 'casino' stock. :sneaky:

New 52 week high today of $14.44, with more to come!

The Fed dropped the word "patient" -- I can't believe this shit is news -- but CAD gained against USD? Thought it would go the other way. Well, my mind is blown, and once again, I'm reminded how I don't know shit and it feels good.

The market lightning jumped from negative to positive just for removing "patient", BUT her message is still essentially the same if you saw her press conference. LOL.

The market is so rigged and controlled by Wall St.......Literally, untold billions of dollars programmed into computers moved on her words.

This makes no sense... I thought the market was "crashing" and swinging everywhere over the past few weeks in fear of a rate hike. Now that "patient" is gone, and the rate hike may happen sooner and its more assured that it'll rise, everything rises? This is the stupidest shit in the world and now I remember why I don't bother screwing with technical analysis or predicting stock prices anymore. Just give me my damn dividend...

The expectation moved from September to October for an increase. The news was more dovish than expected and that brought the USD down.

I have to prepare a stock pitch or two for an upcoming interview. Anyone have any recommendations (preferably a long, not a short) on what to look at? I will obviously do more analysis on it but a recommendation in the right direction would be very helpful.

You were in an accident.
Your heart stops.
They hit you with the paddles. (QE1)
They hit you with the paddles again. (QE2)
They hit you with the paddles again. (QE3)
They install a Pace Maker (QE4) a put you on a Respirator (ZIRP).

Now they start talking about should the respirator be removed or not.

You panic because you are not sure if you can breath on your own. (Taper Tantrum)

It is decided to leave the respirator alone for now.

A junior equity research analyst. I am a career switcher so I'm trying to get some ideas on some good stocks that I can analyze and present during the interview. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

This. The word "patient" has nothing to do with the overall market, and just moreso when people expect our new FED chair (dumbass) to raise rates. The market, although didn't hear the word "patient" detected from her speech that she will not be raising the rates come mid-year.

Honestly, it disgusts me that we are still talking about raising rates and not doing it. Disgusted.
