And oil is $3 down again after $3 up. Once again at $50. If only there wasn't a chance that it'd break the pattern, we'd all be rich.

A few weeks ago when it was moving up I bought some "UWTI" on Monday sold on Friday for a 8% gain.

This morning got some "DWTI" up 5+% so far will sell in 5 days or less. Friday most likley.

I will not hold either of these very long no matter what!

Will end up on the wrong side if I try it too many times.:)

My Adxs shares were called out. Missed a few bucks of upside. Too expensive now; but decided to reload 300 @ $18.50

This stock seems to know no ceiling.

GE sold their bank? I don't see how that is a good idea....

My largest holding is GE so I am stoked by any attention to the stock.
They aren't selling all of GE Capital. They are selling the Commercial Real Estate loans and already announced a planned spinoff of their Credit card business into Synchrony financial. I think these are smart decisions as it should reduce their exposure to bad loans, reduce government oversight/regulation and reduce their debt percentage.

Thankfully they are keeping the loan business that they use to sell their commercial goods, like airplane leases and energy(windmill/gas turbine) loans.

GE was a buy at $25. It had one of the the lowest forward P/Es in the Dow and S&P. I think its still a buy up to $30, but I won't be adding additional shares.

I was in at $2.75 but was overjoyed to sell it all at around $8. I couldn't imagine it maintaining such a high valuation. $20 is insane.

But then again, how do you really value a company that makes no money right?

Nice returns. :)

Value is a matter of perception.

Interdasting... Article about how Saudis may have been more worried about demand for oil peaking than fracking -- only read a third of it.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-04-12/saudi-arabia-s-plan-to-extend-the-age-of-oil

I was trading OAS Petroleum in the $12-$13 range. Its now at $18 and I missed out, that was even AFTER a dilutive secondary offering of shares.

loving SYN and SGYP over the next 2 months...both have huge catalysts.

SYN & SGYP look like dead money according to the chart. I hate dead money, unless collecting premiums. You are bottom fishing...follow the money. Follow Adam Feuerstein.

Adam recommended ADXS at $7 (see my first post at #252 back in January). The stock hit $22 today. We are in a biotech bubble, just like the tech bubble of 1999 and housing bubble of 2006. May as well cash in.

And hopefully the biotech bubble doesn't burst since I have quite few funds tied up in VHT and VGHAX. Nice returns the trailing 12 months.

is that why healthcare funds are skyrocketing this year?
+15% vs +2.5% for REITs

And the hell are REITs lagging this year?

Eh, I'm out on my oil after this jump (need some cash anyways). Made about 15% in less than two months - I'll take it.

I suspect its the fear of interest rates rising at the June fed meeting.

huh?
thought real estate, like gold, was a hedge against inflation?

that's why I switched from Bonds to REITs when the fed 1st hinted at raising rates.
Wrong move???

Reits had a great year last year. I hope you aren't chasing returns.

Oil's starting to push $60. All because of a production drop of, what was it, 50k barrels in the US of A out of 9 million a day?

Getting my ass kicked on US-CAD exchange rate. Have to remind myself that I'm playing the bad economy in Canada and likely housing bubble burst and not any short-term changes. Looking like I'm not going to make any moves until/if interest rates rise in the US later this year.

Oh ya, sold COS way too early.

Been hearing from random internet comments that the second round of oil sector layoffs is a'happening.

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...fit-falls-to-4-year-low-as-oil-spending-slows

11k jobs

Supposedly we have a correction starting with today... Dow is currently down 330, ~1.75% on all of them, due in part to international issues (China making trade changes).

Honestly, it's been a long time coming all year... I've been waiting for a correction to max out my ROTH for the year.

Just made my 2015 Roth contribution order. Figure with the big drop today it was a good time to get in.

I understand the intent, but I don't really get this. The S&P500 was lower than it is right now early last week. We're much closer to the year's high than we are to the year's low.

Yea, but I have the funds and would like to reap the benefit of an early investment. Normally I don't make the investment until April of the following year (just put in 2014's contribution about 3 weeks ago).
Figured today was as good as any to get it over with.

Uhhhh, I think he is asking why you didn't do it earlier (Jan/Feb).

He does have a point, I'm just hoping for an overall correction over the course of the next couple weeks that makes it plummet even further.

Still waiting to see what the interest rate increase does to market. Really boring year so far.
