I'm wondering what the Seahawks are thinking now about not paying Kam. It's a Pyrrhic Victory so far.

He'd be getting paid if he showed up for work. Dude's lost half a mil in salary plus fines. No way he makes that up. Plus how good's he going to be after missing camp/practices/games etc?

He needs to fire his agent for giving him bogus advice and get back to work.

But in the meantime the SeaHawks are 0-2. How much is that costing the team I wonder.

Sucks to be you if you drafted DeMarco Murray early.

They could easily be 2-0 even without him. You never know.

7 million a year is pretty good money. Does he thinks he deserves Earl Thomas money? Play well this year and prove you deserve the same money as Thomas. Last year's stats don't really back that up.

The plaintive cries of a dedicated Iggles fan:

1. Many of the big, high profile moves Chip made had huge upsides and downsides, and there you are, pick a side . . . but if you didn't do it before the season started, stfu, pile-on boy.

However, the Bradford, Alonso and Murray moves aside, it was releasing O-guards Herremans and, especially, Evan Mathis, and thinking he could just insert ball-fluffer and locker-room attendant level replacements that really seems to have turned out to be overreach hubris, at least so far. And there is no depth behind the starters, so it's a true question if this can be fixed at all!

2. Pro Football Hall of Fame writer Ray Didinger, who always has a keen eye for analysis, pointed out one key fact about Sam Bradford, and that is that he did not once look confident or in charge during the Cowboys game. IOW, he did not look like a leader, like an NFL QB who will take your team to the next level. Oh, my!

Two things in response:

1. It's instructive to remember that a team is never as bad as it looks when it's going bad, and vice-versa.

2. Weaknesses in an offense (and a defense) tend to cascade, and make the whole unit look bad. The inability of the O-line to prevent penetration led the Eagles to all but abandon the running game, might have made Bradford look bad (although he did look plenty bad on his own) due to not having sufficient time to find his receivers. Key drops by Matthews, Austin and Cooper on catchable balls didn't help.

Can the Birds turn this around? Honestly, if the O-line can't improve markedly, this question may not have a positive answer. Other than that, the sole saving grace is that it may not take much to win the NFL East, given the Cowboys' major injuries.

Now excuse me while I go find my tear-soaked security blanky. :p

So let me get this right...

Bucs, Jags, Raiders, Redskins & Browns all won yesterday?

That will happen again......said no one ever.

Crazy right? NFL is rigged for sure.. lol

Anyhow, this helped me take the lead in a pick em league I'm in. No one seems to look at the odds before they make their pick. My only real bonehead pick was Houston, which I swear I did not pick.. that pick doesn't fit my logic at all. The raiders were 6 pt favs., but on the pick distribution, Ravens were picked by 95% of the public. I don't know how they make those odds, but those odds were extremely fishy. IRL, Oakland did not cover, so Ravens would've been the right pick, but this pick em league does not take the spread into account. I also picked the Browns to beat Tennessee. In close odds, I like going with the home team.

Yea, I'm a Pats fan, I didn't know Bevell was gone, it just seems Wilson goes in fits and starts and is not steady the way a top-tiered QB should be. Lets be honest though, GB just needed to recover an onsides kick last year and they go to the SB and their coach had zero guts running the ball 3X and punting it right back to Seattle, you've got Aaron Rodgers back there, let him win it for you with 1-2 1st downs, heck I'm a Brady homer and Rodgers has a better and more accurate arm.

I think you have to watch more Seahawks games, then. Wilson doesn't really go in fits and starts--he may have a sub-par game every once in a while, but ever since his freshman year in college he's been as consistent as anyone can be at that position from season to season. (including setting an NCAA record for completions/INTs during his first 2.5 seasons)

He truly is that good.

I think what we saw in the first half last night, much like Peyton early in the 2 Denver games so far was, their respective OC's trying to force a scheme that worked very much against each QB's wheel house. Then you see them turn it on when they are allowed a bit more freedom with play-calling.

As for the GB losses in those now-infamous games, those were certainly games that GB should have won; especially the NFCC last season. At the same time, you have to accept that Wilson and the Seahawks are a team that won't quit, and simply won't fold under lackluster execution and shitty play-calling through a lazy attempt to seal what should have been an easy win last year. There are probably 2 teams all of last season that could have come back and beaten GB like Seattle did; the other one was in the SB.

hard to say right now.

Remember this time last year when your beloved Pats started off 1-2, everyone said that Brady was done for life, and the streets of Worcester had descended to a lawless, post-apocalyptic wasteland where cannibals roamed the streets, the cries of orphaned children and crippled and abandoned elderly filled the twilight hours, and the living envied the dead?

How is that different from Worcester at any other time of the year?

Plus, bus service slowed to a crawl, and several bars closed early, and without warning . . . sometimes it's the little things, you know?

I don't know the Cards as long as Palmer stays healthy look like they are going to be really tough in that division.

Apparently Brees might have a shoulder injury that'll cause him to miss games.. Verizon's gonna have to re-do that Luke McCown commercial now!

That was what I was expecting most teams to do to the 49er secondary yesterday. But not getting a hand on the QB was disappointing and surprising as well.

Next week at the Cards will be interesting,

I honestly feel bad for Murray, he had guys with hands on him practically as he was getting the ball.

lots of stuff

I think most of what you said is spot on. Their O line was collapsing, you could have the best RB that ever played the game and he'll suck ass if he's getting hit .1 seconds after he has the ball.

Bradford looked like a deer in the headlights several times as he went to the line.

Also, I wouldn't discount the Giants, they looked decent. Obviously I'm pretty fucking worried about the Cowboys w/o Romo but I'll take 7/7 1 TD and 0 INTs from Wheedon.

I'm sure Herr Goodell will look at this and levy the appropriate punishment:

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ay-stadium-sounds/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs

Not much different than what Atlanta was punished for and the NFL won't do anything about it. Of course, you don't see NE complaining as they're used to it and have several different non-verbal ways of making calls at the line of scrimmage.

After all the trolling that Buffalo did, great to see them lose once again to NE.

So who's the cowboys going to get to either take over QB or back up? Only free agent that really jumps out that would fit their play style is Matt Flynn.

Talk of them trading for RG3 is bunk, RG3 needs a new team but one that will work to his strengths not try and make him mold to their play style like in Washington.

Wait, your comparing the Hawks to the Pats? It should be clear where your argument went astray. :)

Glennon would be a completely suitable fill-in and Tampa would probably sell him cheap.
