My indicator is still producing very good readings. I am calling for an additional 80-90 handle rise over the next 3 weeks. Maybe even new highs. (I'm not really interested in that debate right now, I'll probably be out by then.)

edit: 8 straight bullish readings. My indicator has put out numbers this bullish only twice in the last 4 years. Once in late February 2009, the other in mid December 2011. Anyone who follows the markets doesnt even need to look at a chart to know the significance of those time periods. Something huge is coming.

Stale news (5 days old):

Prem Watsa increased his position in SD from about 5 million shares to 50 million shares.

His new shares were bought for $5.27.

He now owns 10.5% of the comapny.

Happy to have SD as one of my largest holdings.

Quick question that's probably been covered here numerous times before:

What's the deal with AMZN's stupid high price/PER?

Is this another netflix waiting to happen but is difficult to short because it will tie up money for who knows how long until it plummets? Or have people been properly hypnotized to believe it's trading at it's proper price. Or not hypnotized, its actually cheap?

Just remember how high NFLX went and how long they stayed there. Amazon still has huge growth potential, but me no wanna play.

it's being valued as a "cloud computing" industry leader, instead of as a break-even e-tailer. The valuation has been high for so long it's impossible to say when support will give out. The good news for Amazon is they have a proven track record of growing revenues and squeezing out near zero net profit margin while "investing" in tons of technology outside their core business. :D

I can understand the argument but not the application of it's relative value. 'Cloud computing' is a very competitive industry and requires a large investment in infrastructure to be competitive and grow. The margin they have over their competitors is not high and not going to grow at a high rate, if it does. As the industry grows, prices come down and margin stays the same. It's not like they have a huge lead in a very profitable industry like Google has in the search industry.

As a consumer, I love the company and love their sophistication, but as an investor I'm still very perplexed.

/edit: Amazon and Google slash prices 25%+

So, Goldman Sachs gave RIMM a "buy" rating. Stock up 6% to where it was a few days ago.

Morgan Stanley, meanwhile, was negative on BB10 being too late earlier in the week.

Pump and dump by GS? They'd never do anything like that...

GMCR moving up after a solid quarter. Too bad I didn't have the money/ wasn't brave enough to cost average down while it was low.

Just a reminder that during the weeks before the last "debt crisis", stocks did the standard up and down within a relatively narrow range. Headlines were "good news on Europe trumps debt crisis in Washington.

The weekend after everything was resolved, it was "surprise mother fuckers!" and "the focus shifts to bad news in Europe", cue -550 points Dow move during the week.

Today I took some profits on Dec 22 141 calls @ 2.68, for an even 4x gain. I'm not going to sell out completely though, since my indicator still has me long for 62 days, but today's reading is just nasty.

Oops forgot to mention that FB is going to 35 in 2013.

never thought i'd say this when it came to fb- but i agree. sunk some money into them a little while ago, only wish i'd have gotten in a week or two before and i'd be up close to 30%. not doing horribly right now though, and expect it to continue to rise - will probably bail in the mid 30s.

Got a sell signal today, with very bearish reading on my indicator. Exiting all long positions. God help anyone going long now.

C is the first letter of a four letter word which happens to be what that stock is. :D

RIMM stock I have, up about 6%
RIMM options I have (many strikes/explerations) up about 60% (total cost relative to today's market value). 2 of the 5 different options I hold are up 400%+.
