They could get bought by someone. I do not follow them. But for a fun quick gamble. one or two lots wont kill anyone. :D

Look at the order book. Kind of fun. I have never seen a stock so heavy on the ask side compared to the bid. Algos revolt!

You think they would get mad if you asked to algo sell their own stock?

Edit: 2.86. Still heavy on the /A side of the book.

Looks like I made the right call selling most of my shit last week. If this is a regularl sized correction, we still got a ways to go.

For once, as much as it pains me to see money being "lost", I'm happy to see economic 'leaders' doing nothing to try to prop up failure. The market severely needs a reality check. It's surprising it lived on rainbows and unicorns this long.

Anybody here got a margin account to short? I've got one and have shorted very modestly in the past, but I always get the goosebumps thinking about holding a short for more than a day. Thoughts?

PSEC.. amazing deal here.. Anyone know why this is 'sold off'... this is lower than their secondary offerring price of 11.15.. Now 10.82/81 .. anywhere under 10.9 is a great buy.. do the math.. research first tho. They'll probably declare next 3 months div on the 7th.

at 10.80 thats around 11.3% annual dividend yield.

Yes.. Its better to take a 'bearish' position with options.. or at least a covered put short sale..

btw.. I've been buying cef's trading a discount to NAV and making extra sure I don't hold too much of (or any at all) of anything that trades above 5% premium to NAV.

For example.. I've never owned this... wow.. attractive yield.. but holy shit look at that premium.

whoever asked about AWF.. heres why I said its too pricey.. I should've looked harder at the premium when I 'tested' it out at 15.72

http://quote.morningstar.com/switch.html?ticker=awf

I bought AWP today at 6.55 - sold at 6.66 after I realized I had just gained 2 months of div payment in a day.

in lovely ocz news.. It traded like it was an inverse etf at the end of the day!

edit: I should really take my own advice in regards to the redundantly repetitive beaten to death dead horse take on stocks that post big drops.. kcg is down yet another 25.19% after hours.. people aren't going to stop there.

OCZ's stock is broken and it will continue to be broken until some good news/catalyst comes out.

Re-initiated a small position in the stock...less than 10% of my capital is allocated to the company now, and this position will continue to dilute as I keep adding to my brokerage account.

I think its just silly people getting carried away. The worst part about this is that KCG has told clients to not do business until they (KCG) are sure their systems are stable.. omg they were honest.

That said.. I sold 2.50 puts for an avg of .6111 - so we'll see.. I'm not exactly optimistic regarding this situation, however.. Institutions are their client base... Institutions are where short sellers borrow shares.. there are a TON of people shorting this.. It's almost a conflict of interest for large holders of the company to lend out shares for short selling.. If I were a large holder I'd lend them until blue in the face.. and then give KCG a huge loan.

I concur, unfortunately but in a way it was expected. The only positive news opportunities I see in the future are:
  • unexpected news of acquisition,
  • unexpected positive news at their shareholder meeting (I think on 8/13),
  • or 4Q results in January.

I wonder if Michael knight is going to speak on behalf of kcg shareholders and explain how the KITT system failed.

Yeah I tool a long look at it this afternoon as it was sitting around $3, reading what was on the wire. As soon as I saw the options of both buyout and bankruptcy being bandied about, and then the CEO saying "Business as usual" my spidey senses said RUN AWAY!!!!!!

I have no ability to go shorting anything, otherwise I probably would do some minor shorts for tomorrow and call it a day. I don't expect them to survive the next 48 hours.

The SEC needs to get their heads out of their asses and get the computers off the "trading floors". They have no business letting software run the market. Not that letting internet rumors run the market is any better.

Nice limit at 3.89. It pretty much tanked after that point.

I am paranoid. If I had applied this paranoia to the insane OCZ run up, I'd have made a whole lot of $ on it. C'est la vie.

So I bought some ATML today, small starting position @ $5.49. Any thoughts on this stock?

When Windows RT is out, the majority of devices will be QCOM.. presumably.... If they use Atmel touch controllers, then thats good.. If NVDA has a newer SoC, or if Tegra3 is good enough, then Wintab makers may opt to use Nvidia's all in one solution.. better battery life, said to be better tech, and the best part for OEMs... one less supplier.

The thing is, QCOM is in the SGS3... QCOM is MSFT's WinRT launch buddy... Gotta ask whether it was Samsung or QCOM that chose Cypress Semi's TrueTouch (or something) to use in the SGS3.. Thats another way that ATML may lose business - if it is indeed QCOM's choice to go with Cypress over any other controller for their S4 platform.
