If i was a SF fan, I'd be super excited about my chances with the young kid. He is clearly much better in every aspect of the game then Smith. Smith's numbers were so good because of the coaching and team around him and what he was asked to do. He could never have those numbers while throwing down the field like Copper Nickle can do.
Spoken like someone with no football IQ and no foresight. You better hope CK7 turns out to be the second coming of Brady, else may as well call this season done, if and when CK7 flounders.

The best thing to do was keep playing Smith and keep CK7 as the ace in the hold, if he's that good. One is that you are not dividing the locker room in the middle of the season, two is that there won't be as much tapes out on the kid so other teams will be even less prepared for him when you're gonna use him.

It would be the right thing to do, even from a businesses stand point. Smith deserves to take the team further because he was largely responsible for the wins (because you'd blame him for the few losses) and if he does, his worth as a trade would be much higher. If he doesn't, you'd have every reasons to dump him. CK7 would be content as a backup, because that was his role that he lost out during training camp. He didn't win the job because he's better statistically, he got to play because it's his role, as a backup. Now the starter that has been winning comes back, go back to being a backup until his number is called again.

I used to like Harbaugh as a coach and respected him as a man with character. Now I just like him as a coach. I know he couldn't care less; and I hope the Niners' season won't turn out as I feared.

And stop cherry picking stats, though Smith doesn't throw down field often, he does, and had. Quit being obtuse.

Go Niners!

LOL, I'll say the same thing about you. ASSSnail

It makes me even happier that Niner fans think its the wrong decision, that makes it hilarious. Hope he does what you think and divide the locker room (he hasn't) and is responsible for you guys losing.

It's funny because he accused you of having no Football IQ, yet Jim Harbaugh, who has football IQ in spades, has chosen to start Kaepernick.

I wish SSSnail would go root for w/e team he did prior to 2011.

As far as I'm concerned, Harbaugh is (by far) the main reason for the Niners success since he started. Not Alex Smith. Alex Smith never even SNIFFED success until Harbaugh got there. He is what he is because of Harbaugh.

Harbaugh is not only a genius, he is proving that he won't just do the traditional or "normal" thing. Most coaches would go back to Alex Smith, most coaches would do a lot of things that Harbaugh does or doesn't do.

Harbaugh is the reason for your success, and as a Niner fan I would look at his decisions as the right thing until proven wrong, not the other way around.

I'm not a niners fan, but I am a huge Harbaugh fan. I think both brothers are among the best coaches in the NFL. I am also a fan of several of their players on Defense and love watching them play.

I could be a huge fan of Copper Nickles, I would rather have him then RG3. He is everything that the media claims RG3 is. Gotta love the kids energy too

Ok, so did I give that Harbaugh is a great coach, no denying that. Just go back and look at Smith's career with SF, and be honest to yourself in his assessment. Even Rogers said he'd have turned to poop if he was in Smith's position.

Harbaugh's arrival marked the first time in his career that he has somewhat a continuity of coaching in two years straight, a decent O-line, and receivers. Name a receiver out of SF that you remember within the last 8 years... See what I'm taking about?

Like I said, I hope CK7 turns out to be Brady like, else...

Anyways, carry on, biased and all.

Thats fine but your argument carries ZERO weight when you are arguing that I have ZERO football IQ and I wasn't the one that made the decision, I just agree with it. Football genius Harbaugh did

The zero football IQ comment wasn't because you agreed with Harbaugh, it's what you've been saying. As much a genius Harbaugh has been so far, I hope he remains perfect and never make a mistake, especially not now.

you got ta axe youself "why did alex have different coaches, offensive coordinators etc...", its because he sucked and they kept blaming the coaches and getting rid of them instead of alex. he was given more time to develop that anyone in the history of football

and how the fuck do you even know these things? You've only had the chance to see him play twice--and likely only saw him one those times.

you couldn't be more blatant with your silly biases.

he seriously doesn't know what he's talking about. i rarely read things he posts when it comes to football anymore, because i already know what he's gonna say.

There is no way Kaepernick is at RG3s level at this time. Give it a year and maybe. I will say that he should hold up better to hits than RG3 though.. Dude is Cam size.

Whatevz

I know what I see. Copper nickles is already better then RG3

Time will prove me right just like it has with Cam Newton already

You still think Tebow is a stud.

Hell yea. Tebow 4 life

All he does is win!

Me and Skip Bayless, Tebow supporters through and through.

Unfortunately for everyone, he isn't being given the chance to prove us right or wrong. Fortunately for me, he already proved it last year taking a 1-4 team to and 8-8 record and a playoff win.

Von Miller named AFC Defensive Player of the month (November)

Miller helped lead Denver to a 4-0 record in November while totaling 20 tackles (18 solo), eight sacks (54 yds.), 10 tackles for a loss and three forced fumbles. His eight sacks and 10 tackles for a loss led all AFC players during the month while his three forced fumbles tied for the conference lead. Additionally, he was the only player in the NFL to post at least one sack in all four weeks in November.

Eat that shit JJ Watt

Tebow couldn't hold Alex Smith's jockstrap.

This is your evidence for Kaepernick's supposed greatness:

--3 quarters & OT against the lowly Rams, only to end in a tie.

--1 very decisive win against the Bears, with their very amazing defense.

--an inability to score, for 2 quarters, against the hapless NO defense. depending on his defense to score for him for the win.

All Smith did last year was lead the team to a 3-loss season, and a historically amazing performance against a great Saints team in the playoffs. An equally solid performance against the Giants, which was lost on a special teams muff.

yet, to you, this is all clear proof that Kaepernick is not only better than Smith, but also RG3? wtf...

....you're a hack.
Just pull the Elway/Manning/Luck cocks out of your ass. You have no room for Kaepernick (or Tebow) at this point. 😀

Posted this in last week's NFL thread but going to post it here too:

I'm really surprised everyone thinks turning the 49er's season over to a Rookie QB is the best course of action to take. They have Superbowl expectations. Is a Rookie QB who got his first start in week 11 going to win you a Superbowl? I don't think so. I don't know what the hell everyone is thinking going all-in on the Kapernick bandwagon.

Kapernick had a great game against Chicago, which made everyone drool over him. Had an ok game this previous week against a really bad Saints defense (he actually looked pretty rattled by the Saints crowd at times). But, Alex Smith is 19-5 over the last season & 1/2. He has lots of experience, including playoff experience. You gotta stick with Smith, and get behind him 100%. He could use some confidence behind him. Harbaugh going after Peyton Manning before the season didn't help 😛 (can't blame him though!)...he really needs to show he's behind Alex Smith.

Speaking of Harbaugh, I was cleaning out a storage unit with a bunch of old childhood stuff in it. Found my trading card collection, went through it, and came across an old Jim Harbaugh Chicago Bears card.
