In order to pump fake, look defenders off, etc, what is the most important thing to have? If you said "good oline protection," you win a cigar. See Nemesis for your award, but that probably won't be tobacco in it if he gives it to you.

I've always said that Luck is and will very likely be the better QB in time, but you can only take the "O-line excuse" so far. That being said, he is young, and starting with such a shitty O-line can't be easy. It's funny to hear year in and year out the foibles and disaster that are the Redskins--only to suddenly hear now that they have this surprisingly competent O-line that suddenly makes their rookie QB a stud...I don't get it. :\

I was a bit distracted--watching both games at once, in the background--the Saints don't have the greatest D, but is it not possible that the receivers were getting so much space because RGIII was moving the D around with eyes, pump fakes, scrambling? I remember one wide-open TD in the corner of the end zone where the corner completely bit on the play-action. He was close at the line and for 5 yards, then just took off leaving his guy wide-open.

The Saints defense looked anemic, they were leaving people wide open and our corners were getting smoked.

Well, keep in mind, they could've had a 10 ft thick concrete wall protecting their last QB -- do you think it would've helped him?

I'm not saying Luck didn't have issues. He did look shell-shocked after awhile and overthrew several wide open receivers when pressured. I hope he doesn't fall victim to David Carr Syndrome. This ain't Stanford, Andy!

The Saints got into a hole early and could not establish a run game at all. Some people in the Saints forum I visit are really complaining about the refs but they are crazy. The Redskins clearly torched the Saints on both sides of the ball all day long.

Huge Green Bay fan I am.

Missed most the game as I was sleeping due to illness, but I have to say I loved the Akers kick. Previous 2 kickers who hit 63yards were in Denver, this kick was on sea level.

And the reaction on Akers face afterwards was worth 1000words. Even the team celebrating so much, was fun to watch (granted I watched it after I woke up online)

However if that football was even an inch farther back, that kick wouldve been too short. I think we just found Akers 100% maximum power point.

Congratulations to the 49ers for beating the Green Bay Packers AND THE REFS!

The blown call on the block in the back and the return TD pretty much sealed the victory for my opponent with the Packers D/ST this weekend. Although I'm happier about the Niners winning than about losing in fantasy football.

Thank you for the being a voice of reason. Luck was hit on nearly every single play and as I mentioned before, RG3 had lots of wide open receivers to choose from and generally plenty of time as well.

For those who didn't see the game, watch a clip of Luck's fumble. There was a Colts lineman (Linkenbach) who literally stood there and watched Luck get blindsided and then had the bright idea to shove the player hitting Luck and caused them both to go down. That is the type of retard playing oline for the Colts.

ah, i remember when i kept making excuses for why jason campbell couldn't do anything behind the skins line, and how he never had wide open receivers to throw to, etc.

not saying that campbell is even close to luck's level, but you just reminded me of when i kept making that excuse.

it is also amusing to hear people say RG3 is "surrounded by talent" with all of the youth and unproven players that he is surrounded by.

The Niners are clearly legit, obviously the NFC favorites now. And though my fantasy teams did well in 3 out of the 4 leagues I am in I would much prefer a Saints win.

I was more impressed with how well the 49er's D kept GB's O in check. I was however pissed after the punt run back they went into prevent D, rushing only 3 people. I HATE that. You are just asking for a QB that good to find someone open eventually. But when they brough 4 or 5 guys they almost always hurried or sacked him.

Yeah they played a great game against a high powered O like GB. The punt return was BS, but the way they played prevent or 3 down line drives me nuts. Do what has been working all game. Why change it?

i was having a discussion with other skins fans yesterday during the game about how RG3 can sell the playaction better than almost anybody out there. it's crazy how well he sells it, good for him.

also, having a decent run game helps the passing game open up, which happened yesterday. the skins grinded it out with the running game and stuck with it, which was also good because it kills the clock.

Once the bears found their grove, they looked almost quite powerful. And 1 game isn't enough to compare much, maybe Green Bay will be average if not less than this year.

They were high powered last year, but watching the preseason and this game, they look nothing like the last 2 years Offense.

Great win for the 49ers def. but I wouldn't put them on a pedastal yet, until we see if the packers just sucked or if the 49ers were good.

Brees looked ok, they just need to establish a better run game in the future. Im not gonna draw up any conclusions off of one game. The Saints just looked really out of sync early in the game and it really bit them in the ass.

The Saints have had trouble with the Redskins for a while now. The only recent win against the Redskins was in 2009 off a very close game that came down to a lucky missed field goal.

It was a great sunday of football!

The refs..oh boy. nothing to major. well besides giving 4 timeouts. allowing a challenge AFTER a fucking play and the tons of missed calls.

They need to get teh real refs in. I can see a few bad calls but this is getting silly. not to mention the flags come in a few time AFTER the crowd booed then they take a minute to talk about it. Officials from who the fuck knows where are also on the field talking. its like they are deciding where to go dinner after the game.

The bears looked good once they settled down. I enjoyed the denver game too. Manning looked good.

I was really surprised at how bad the Dolphins looked. I thought the game was going to be closer. They really threw Ryan Tannehill to the wolves in Miami, outside of Reggie Bush they have nobody on offense.

The biggest blown call for us was 12 men on the field where Manning snapped the ball trapping a guy on the field that ended up in a punt and points for the Steelers.

Otherwise, not a lot of huge issues in the Broncos game. The challenge after the play was fine as it worked in our favor.

Also, the refs were slow and stupid spotting the ball, forward progress seems to be a foreign language for them and running our no huddle would have been a lot more smooth with the normal refs. That was consistent through out the league yesterday, I saw balls spotted consistently wrong, a yard here, a half yard there. Its pathetic really

the ref simply wasn't looking - his back was to manning so he had no clue manning had snapped the ball. definitely a rookie mistake by them though.

but if it was such a big deal the broncos should have challenged it. they didn't, and they won the game, so it doesn't really matter at this point.
