Woot, in last 26 games, 21-5. Won 8 of the last 9 series, beating Detroit, Texas, LAA, and Atlanta in there. Too bad they didn't play this way the whole year, but I'll take it. Lets sneak into 1st by the break!

Yankees legendary owner George Steinbrenner has passed away of a massive heart attack. At least that is what is being reported here in NYC (fox 5).

A couple of days ago Yankee PA announcer, Bob Sheppard died after 50+ years of work (he also did Giants football PA duties).

ESPN confirms as well. Besides the Yankees, he was a very important figure in Tampa. IIRC, he was very instrumental in us getting the Rays.

Yeah, love or hate the Yankees, what a huge part of the modern game.

And yes, I'm thinking that the AL is gonna smash tonight.

Just sing the national anthem and start the game please. So much pre-game stuff. At least start the program at 7pm est if they have so much pregame stuff planned.

Yeah I feel bad for you east coasters. Last year was ridiculous with the extra innings.

Wainwright, Carpenter, Hudson, Lincecum ..etc..should be able to close things out.

McCarver is seriously awful. Embarrassing.

This one's over. Glad the NL finally got one, kinda. I mean, even the Pirates win every once in awhile...the NL had to get one eventually.
