All this and without David West.

Hornets won't win the series, we all know this but no one thought they'd even with one game. If Paul keeps up this high level play they can certainly draw out the series and weaken the Lakers for the next round.

I don't give them much of a chance either, but that said, I think the West is wide open.

SA was the only top tier team to go the season without injuries, odd given their age. Now the injury bug seems to have bitten them at the very worst time.

The Lakers looked shaky all year, some mixture of wear and tear and apathy it would seem.

Dallas can make a finals run, they had a 17-1 streak and an 18-1 streak this year. Their secondary scoring option is Terry though and they are as creaky and old as any team out there. I don't trust them.

OKC seems to be the real shining jewel out West, that Perkins trade really put them over the top. They are built to beat the Lakers now, but they may just get a different team in the conference finals.

If OKC makes it to the conference finals, they'd have to beat either SA or Memphis to get there. You'd think they'd fair better against Memphis, but they actually have the worst record against them compared to other west playoff teams, losing 3/4 in the regular season. (However those losses were pre-Perkins iinm.)

It would be awesome to see OKC in the finals.

Barkley just said that Memphis is going to win the series against SA. I don't believe they will because Manu is going to come back but since they split the season series I see it going at minimum 6 games.

I think Manu could take the next 2 games off, return with SA down 3-0, and SA would still take the next 4. 😀

Those last few seconds of the Knicks-Celtics showed the experience of the Celtics. They left Ray Allen wide open for a 3 for the lead then Melo goes for a super long range 3 when they didn't even need a 3 just a 2 to tie it and still had more than enough time to go for the two or set up a better shot.

That last shot by Melo was wretched.

With that said, the offensive foul called on him with ~ 22 seconds left was a total joke. GG refs.

Miami defense is really clamping down today.

During the regular season Miami would jump out to 15+ point leads then coast and let the other team back into the game. This happened in more than half of their losses. Now that its the playoffs, do they step on the 76ers' throats and finish the game?

That will be what I'm looking for.

Everyone seemed to predict the two games tonight would be blow-outs.

The Bulls are favored +12, which seems way too high to me. Run through their schedule and you will see they didn't blow out teams like that too often. The Pacers are a better team than their 8th seed would suggest, as they were much improved after canning their coach.

If the Bulls do blow them out, it will be a big step forward as an appropriate response to the way the Pacers socked them in the mouth in game 1.

I agree with the announcers for this game...Indiana is a superstar away from being a seriously competitive team. These guys have pieces at every position and play their hearts out. They just need that "go to" guy to take the pressure off of Granger and open him up more.

They are better than their record shows.
