I dont think the delay ahs any effect on RMBS long term, its just that there are soooo many speculators onboard, both in options and shares, that people are likely to react very strongly to any news.

That's exactly it. There were so many people betting on the outcome. The January option interest were through the roof. Now that they know the AT won't be decided by then, everyone dumps Jan options.

Does that mean that those of us still holding Jan options are screwed? lol

Not necessarily, there is still (p) of settlement prior to trial.

RMBS will probably gradually rise to around 19-20 as the trial begins, jsut like it was doing prior to the delay.

Samsung buyout rumors on RMBS.... really?

This rumor has been going on and off for some time now... reportedly, they now have actually made an offer of $27.50.

I am skeptical. I think more likely there has been some deal made with Sammy, but who knows. The volume has gone well past the average day's volume and it hasn't even been 1 hour into trading yet.

too much wishful thinking to hope that this frenzy continues and push the jan options up? hurting pretty bad from those :(

I don't know buddy. One of my best friend lives in CA (where Rambus is based out of) and apparently a lot of people were chatting about this rumor yesterday around 2pm PST. The market was closed at that time, but when I look at the aftermarket trades there were some very sizeable buys in the low to mid $16's. Supposedly, someone from Rambus "confirmed" this rumor. This would explain why shortly after Rambus opened, there were huge block trades to drive the price up.

It's only a little past lunch, and the stock is already trading 3x+ it's average daily volume and at its high of the day...

That's the other information I have. I did buy some cheap Sept $22 calls this morning during the spike that's already doubled in price. Hoping something develops this weekened, but I remain skeptical. We've heard this many times.

Well, no idea about that, but some news about another biomed company.

AEN (Adeona Pharm.) is preparing 3 drugs for NDA submission (source). It jumped yesterday, and is holding around yesterday's peak even after it came back down after said peak yesterday.

I got in this stock around the last time it peaked to similar levels, and then it proceeded to drop. I can't say whether buying in now would be a good idea or if it will likely drop again, but I had been sitting on this well below my entry cost for quite some time. Figured it had to move again someday considering they had so many drugs in clinical trials.

If this stock can behave like CTIC, I'd be ecstatic. That would be two big movers in the biomed market.
Let's just hope one of them can bring something to market that brings in large revenues for the company.

CTIC didn't get the priority review we were all hoping for. however, standard review is still not bad, we just have to wait a few months longer (Apr 2010). expecting a huge dip on Tuesday due to this news. still holding long....

Yep, expected CTIC to fall some, but I think it's going to hold to at least 1.30 for the long term, and regardless, I'm not going to play around with this stock until I hear some bad news. Having a FDA review, period, is a long-term good news situation, until moan-worthy news comes if it ever does. This is a long hold for me, at least until the final FDA results are released. Positive news and I'm staying for a good ride.

AEN just got a major boost again.

I had bought into AEN earlier in the year when it was around 0.65, and then I had been griping as I held with it staying under .40, but I expected it would do something good in the long run, plus it wouldn't have ended up being too painful, and a good tax break at the end of the year if necessary.
But Friday it jumped, and today it's jumped another 70+% to 1.22 following another press release.

Check out some of the bond funds available from USAA. Pretty steady returns, way above the current money market funds.

USG is a tough one. Free cash flows are all over the place historically. Even if you normalize cap ex before looking at FCF.

So, I see WFC being about 30% undervalued but USG is about 60% undervalued. I need to really nail down what USG is worth though. I have to dig through annual reports, especially those revolving around 2006 when they filed chapter 11 and emerged.

The thing with USG is that even with modest FCF estimates going forward, it is still grossly undervalued. Even though I am still at back of napkin estimate stage.

If only JNJ would correct.

USG is all over the charts and too unpredictable for me.
I've seen your analysis(among others) and would choose to stay on the side for now.
I ran my own numbers and didn't trust them.
