Looked like maybe a dirt & grass stain to me. Whatever. But certainly don't need to give the Cardinals another thing to cry over. We all know LaRussa is going to be on this non-stop if they lose this game. I don't think they've yet gotten over all the teams "stealing their signs" from cameras in the scoreboard... and doesn't help that the tv announcers both have major ties to the Cardinals organization - they don't want to let up on the subject.

Whatever it was, it was washed off after the 1st inning, and he's still blanking the Cards.

Anybody else real tired of the freakin' Sharp Aquos commercial where the people can see the golf ball in the weeds buy the player can't? At this point it makes me want to break a Sharp TV, not buy one. Make more than one commercial if you paid for all those TV spots!! For the love of God!

BTW, the Gambler has obviously made some kind of deal with the devil, because this is just not right.

Typical Todd Jones.. Almost giving me a heart attack..

Almost..

Ditto....especially after Rogers pitched completely LIGHTS OUT

It's amazing. Rogers gives up two hits and zero runs over eight innings, then Jones comes in and almost gives it up.

Time to head to St. Louis. GO TIGERS!

I'm sure glad MLB brought out Mellencamp before the game so we could hear that song one more time too.

ESPN is making a point of this 'stuff' on his hands...reading the rules saying it's not an indictment of Rogers but repeating this stuff over and over....they made him wash his hands and what he still pitched lights out after he washed his hands so WTF yeesh

I sure hope this "substance" stuff doesn't become the "story" of the world series now. Because it seems like it is going to be, and that would suck.

Joe Buck clearly doesn't want Tigers to win the WS.
Being legendary Cardinals announcer Jack Buck's son, and Tim McCarver having been drafed and played through the Cardinals organization... I don't see a connection to this Cardinal bias you speak of. 😕

The stupidest thing about it is that the ball never sees the palm at the base of the thumb.
So, wtf are they making a big deal about this for?

btw-Kenny in his post game news conference said it was dirt and rosin, and that he wiped it off with a towel without anyone asking him to.

Yea again my thoughts.

Oh wait its cuz its Detroit.....we're a bunch of thugs who cheat, shoot, and steal our way to victory.

Oh wait he washed his freakin hands and he still managed 8IP, 2H, 0ER, 5K

I didn't see any of this as I was driving back to college. However, when you throw a circle change (Off speed pitch) the ball most certainly touches the base of your thumb.

But I have no clue what you are talking about...I just wanted to throw that out there 🙂

(Cards almost had it...I think if they would have PH Chris Duncan we would have had a better shot than with Preston Wilson but whatever. Rogers has been unreal! Go Cards!!)

It makes absolutely not sense that it was "dirt" on Kenny's hand. There are a bunch of reasons why dirt doesn't make sense. Cardinals are idiots for not asking the umps to inspect that "dirt" asap.

The Cardinals can't hit left-handed starters, dirt or no dirt, pine tar or no pine tar. If it comes to a game 6, I think you'll see Rogers coming out showing everyone squeaky-clean hands, and still break the single post season record for consecutive scoreless innings.
