Right, and I assume running over a catcher at home plate is a very unrespectable thing to do too? A Rod plays with so much heart and he wants to win so bad that he does everything he can, sometimes a little too much. In fact when the Yankees and Torre see the replay of what he did, I'm sure he will get a nice pat on the back for trying all he could.

Pitching inside is indeed a part of the game. When a player hangs over the plate he takes away the outside pitch from the pitcher's options. But throwing at someone's back or head is a frustration move too. THe difference between the 2 is that Arod's move has no chance of seriously hurting someone.

Yankees have class. Willimas, Jeter, Mo, etc all have my respect. A-Rod has been a blight to that image. This series alone he's slapped a tagging pitcher, leaned into a slow curve, (didn't quite hit him) and tried to trip a Boston player at 2nd AFTER he had the ball gone for a double play. Did he just start his crap this year or has it just been undercover? (btw, Cabrera put a nasty Rod Blake style hip check last game, not proud of it but it didn't effect the play) Mueller was the one player Boston couldn't lose because of injury, a major hit to offense and defense. I thought being drilled with the fastball early may have been on purpose but looking back I doubt it.

WTF was the deal with riot gear? Would you rush the field with guys like Manny, Ortiz, Shiefield, or Sierra with a bat? 😉

Being the OP of that statement, I think I know what I was saying. Incase your not reading correctly, the statement clearly means that when Arod was hit, it was not "pitching inside" it was an intentional retaliatory pitch.

It comes down to how tired is Lowe? He was pulled relatively early in his last outing, but he's still on short rest. Other pitchers include Wakefield, Mendoza, Timlin, Embree, Meyers, and maybe even Pedro at the end if needed. (doubtful)
