Seems as if none of my local Gamestop's are doing a midnight release, so now I have to decide if I want to bother with going around to Wal-Mart's and seeing if they will be diligent in putting it out.
 
I was able to buy the drumset earlier today (guitar and drums are out now), but the guy would NOT budge on giving me the disc. Really, really annoying to have the set sitting here with no game.

I've also read that since the rb2 drums are high/low pads for the velocity (instead of on/off for rb1), they don't work very well in RB1.
 
Got the game at WalMart at midnight after having some drinks. I'm liking the single-player Tour mode. I never got a chance to use Tour mode with RB1 since it was used with multiple band members only, and I don't have any friends that play the game regularly enough.

Not much else to report on besides it looking like it's basically more of the same, which is a good thing. I'm exporting my songs from my RB1 disc right now, I'm glad that's an option.
 
If anyone's bought the guitar, can they say wether or not the calibration camera that was part of the initial rock band 2 info has made it in?
 
Guitar isn't out till the 16th. Drums are available some places now but I can't find them even in Phoenix.

Also my Wal-marts were being little bitches and wouldn't sell them at midnight so I going to gamestop in a minute.

Really? i got it at the Walmart on the 202 and Dobson at midnight last night.


Does anyone notice ridiculously long loading times? Last night i felt like the game would be loading for 2-3 minutes for some screens.
 
I went to the Signal butte and Baseline Walmart then drove out to the Stapley one. I didn't know there was one at Dobson and 202. Oh well off to the Gamestop. Hope I can find drums today.

Guitars are out already, try your local gamestop.
 
They didn't have any guitars at my gamestop. They said Tues.

They did have 2 drum sets and I got one of them. They are much better than the old ones. They haven't dropped a note yet. I had basically quit playing drums on my old set cuz they were so crappy so this is a fun change.
 
I saw a pile of guitars yesterday at the gamestop out here. They had the new mic too. I like that the controls are included on the mike but I can see holding it while singing being some what uncomfortable.

I'm planning on getting one of the wireless guitars to replace one of my wired ones and if I like it I'll grab a second one too.
 
Anyone know, if you buy a RB2 guitar (With the camera to calibrate the game), can you use that guitar in RB1 to calibrate that game also? (Did they add that during an update/will it see when a new guitar is plugged in?) Im not getting RB2 yet, maybe for the Holidays, but wouldn't mind a new guitar for RB1 and be able to calibrate it perfectly.
 
I've only played through a little bit of the world tour mode, but so far there's a lot of shitty songs. Thank the lord there's tons of DLC and the ability to port over RB1 songs, or I'd go crazy trudging through the shit. I do like the tour mode, though. It's much more fun than the simple play to unlock more songs that I've been used to in GH games.

I am LOVING this game. The soundtrack is incredible, the charts are good... I love the world tour mode and the way multiplayer and single player seem to just kind of merge together seamlessly. Then there are the challenges and the battle of the bands which are great too. When you play a battle of the bands (some are band only, some are solo only, and some are any number of band members 1-4) you can just do the battle and then it'll tell you where you rank on your friends list and how far behind the next person on your friends list you are. It'll show your progress vs the next person on your friends list as you play through the set.... and then it also tells you how much more you need to break the top 100 for that battle. It's great.

IMHO this game blows away any Guitar Hero game to date as well as Rock Band 1. It will be interesting to see if GH:WT is this much fun when it comes out. I'm really happy with this game, I can see myself being consumed for many many hours.
 
Grabbed it yesterday, love it. It has the same bug as when RB1 came out. A guy singing female vocals. Miss the single player straight forward mode but am glad the single tour band mode works, now I can play bass or guitar with my avatar. Sweet. Hate that I had to pay to export my RB1 songs.
 
My drums are f'd.. about 25% of the time when I hit yellow the game thinks I hit blue as well. This cross-talk seems to be affecting alot of people judging from the RB forums. The support site is also slammed.

Even with that, the game is pretty fun, but some songs are just awful. Panic at the disco and AFI? wtf - we couldn't wait for them to end.
 
I didn't mind panic at the disco... but there are definitely some bad songs. There are a TON of great songs, but the bad songs are really bad... lol. Visions makes me want to scream and pull out my ears... it's awful. Well unless you like growling with random guitar noise... if you do then you'll probably think the song is pretty cool 🙂
 
I've seen quite a few posts about the cross talk on the drum pads, especially with the yellow and blue pads :\ I'm still using my RB1 instruments though... i'm glad now. I was hoping those were isolated incidents and not a common issue, but it is starting to sound like a real problem for harmonix. I really thought the drums would be better this time around but it almost sounds like they are worse 🙁

I'm using RB1 instruments (though I always use the GH3 guitar) until I get the GH:WT bundle for Christmas. We'll see how those instruments work out... i've never had problems with GH guitars from GH1 through now, so hopefully their drums will be as good.
