Odds of Biden stepping down

  • Total voters
    148
  • Poll closed .
Pelosi clearly giving the hint to Biden but it's pretty clear Biden can't hear anything outside his ego and inner circle. After all, he did run again when the majority of voters in his own party didn't want him to and his numbers overall sucked, so he doesn't really care about reality or hints. Pelosi has to get the balls and say it, and that might thankfully start the domino effect and we can save this election.

You see how you didn’t address my question? Take a good hard look in the mirror because you are doing exactly what you accuse me of doing.
Dude, you asked 'how do we give them a voice', I said 'shut the fuck up and let them talk', that's literally answering your question. What exactly was I not addressing?

FWIW the view in Trumpworld is that Biden quitting is most definitely not their preferred outcome.

Makes sense, Trump is just a Biden bashing machine at this point. If they swap off to someone else he'll be reduced to either yammering about tired old Republican talking points (which an especially young candidate can actually agree with and counter with solutions) or just keep talking about Biden... Which will go fine and dandy.

Biden as head of the ticket who plainly says “At the end of day one I will resign as President”
Newsrom or someone with some fight in their belly as VP. Kamala hasn’t shown to have that fight in her.

If you dump Harris completely, you can kiss a large chunk of the african american vote goodbye.

They are totally right. Trump being the nominee again was the greatest gift to the Dems. And what did they do? They gave us one of the worst candidates to go against him lol and are now in a nailbiter at best. What a party!

If I was a Trumper I'd be praying to the evil Jesus they worship that Biden needs to stay in the race.

Amazing how the Dems can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Not like they weren't warned, in fact they had tons and tons of warnings, and it's not like the poll numbers didn't tell them this before he even ran, the polls told them this! Your own voter base was literally saying, we don't want Biden again! All the signs were there in bright neon colors! I'm starting to think the donkey is actually blind deaf and dumb.

And now, they have been given a hail mary pass, and they don't have the stones or cajones to take the ball. They are looking a gift horse in the mouth. Some political instincts here.

It's only our democracy on the line you dimwits.

If one takes the view that Trump has been essentially running against Biden continuously since like March 2020 and would have to turn on a dime yeah. Potentially a challenge.

Almost like swapping candidates might not be the worst idea the simulation has come up with...

This is a statement of belief more than an objective fact. Recent surveys indicate she may do better with independents than Biden.
I know it's my opinion purely based on my anecdotal experiences with average blue state independents. At this point I trust that more than most polls though.

She for sure wouldn't get nearly as many votes as Biden in say, PA.

Possible weakness with some rust belt white voters is why they would seek to counterbalance the ticket with somebody who appeals to them. Namely a while male from the rust belt.

I’m also not super convinced this election is going to be a 2020 turnout situation. If there is turnout weakness with non-white and younger voters she could possibly help fix some of that.

Oh then by all means wear yourself out and here I thought we were talking about voters.

Man

You sound like me from 2023. Trying to warn everyone about the blinking red lights. Was called a doomer.

I didn't think Biden would age 20 years overnight but obviously he was more flawed than anyone wanted to admit. And now here we are, basically looking at a red wave unless Biden bows out.

Hopefully they get their head out of their ass and see not potentially voting is increasing chances of the orange monkey pulling out the win will do more harm in gaza.

When you, and others like you, tell people (who are going to primarily be voters) to sit in the corner and color when they voice what are obviously well conceived and commonly shared thoughts, you are the one that's trying to remove the voice of the voters. All you have to do is get out of the way, and they can talk, then act.

I was also saying Biden was a mistake, and I also kept arguing with people who insisted that Biden was the only and best choice. I thought that was nuts to say. I was literally saying - how can you be part of a political party if you think Biden is the best choice to run again? I would be embarrassed if I thought that's the best they can do. - it made no sense then and makes no sense now. I thought they could do much better than Biden though and said as much. I said Biden should pass the torch and we have a legitimate primary. They thought I was nuts too, but not a doomer.

The reason you are called a doomer is because to you the entire sky is falling all the time and all your predictions have so far been duds, all doom and gloom. I have not. I actually talk strategy and policy too. But, if Biden stays in, you may unfortunately get your first correct call. It's still a nailbiter but it doesn't look good for Biden at all.

Go ahead and quote the post where I said anything remotely like that. All I did, which apparently triggered you, is ask how they would do what they wanted to do. You nor anyone else could be bothered to answer so I have to assume you must all enjoy shitting your pants just for the fun of it.

The 'shitting your pants' talk is part of it, it's minimizing what's very obvious and again, commonly shared concern. You can say pants shitting all you want but donors, senators, and reps are calling on him to bow out. That's not chicken little talk.
