Answer the question - Is or is not May Day a communist holiday?

Are occupiers celebrated may day for it's intended communist reasons?

The answer is yes on both counts. Everything they stand for is very hard left marxism.

I appreciate your being such a devoted member of the 99% that you're willing to preach the cause to the masses here.

Not quite my bag, but good on ya for being vocal about a cause you clearly seem to want to champion.

Why don't you go google what May Day is, what it stands for, and why it's celebrated? Seems you don't know what it is, the very definition of ignorant. Willfully so.

There is a word for folks like that as well, communist supporters = useful idiots. Which is all the occupiers really are as history has shown us and communist leaders will always try to use the useful idiots.

You're on the wrong page, you ignorant buffoon.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Workers'_Day

In many countries, the working classes sought to make May Day an official holiday, and their efforts largely succeeded. May Day has long been a focal point for demonstrations by various socialist, communist and anarchist groups. In some circles, bonfires are lit in commemoration of the Haymarket martyrs, usually at dawn.[7] May Day has been an important official holiday in countries such as the People's Republic of China, Cuba and the former Soviet Union. May Day celebrations typically feature elaborate popular and military parades in these countries.

More here...Notice they are also calling it international workers day aka May Day.

How about more here, seething with communism.
http://www.occupymay1st.org/

After a day of actions and outreach that cripples capitalism in the city, Occupy Los Angeles will be hosting a special General Assembly at 7PM at Pershing Square. We will show those who claim power, where the true power lies — in our dedication to talking with each other and empowering ourselves to solve our own problems, the problems of the 99%.

Everyone is welcome! Everyone will be heard.

Seems you STILL don't know what may day is even though I have spoon fed you the information. It is a communist holiday, a far left worker party idea from the get go and still is.

Which is also celebrated as a worker's holiday in capitalist countries as well. In fact, the worker's holiday aspect was begun in the United States.

And now we know why Obama doesn't put an end to these "protests." All this time he has been working to destroy the economy and the country, and institute a Marxist, socialist, Communist state with himself at the head. When he gets reelected, these will be the nucleus of his shock troops for controlling the former republic.

Yes, those Celts were big into communism. Beltane is an archaic word that literally translates as "Death to the bourgeoisie and America and baseball."

You don't have information. You have propaganda. You have delusions. You have a pathetic ability to block out the 97% of reality that contradicts you in favor of the 3% that support your paranoid ranting.

Spidey uses his alternate account...

The notion that Obama is any sort of Leftist is absurd. He's not even much of a Liberal, sad to say.

Are you going to say May Day isn't a communist workers party "holiday"? Why would ows side with such a radical far left idea?

Oh, it's because that's what they are. Keep telling yourself it isn't a marxist movement though, when all evidence shows exactly what it is - a marxist movement.

Do you even know what May Day is and why there are May Day protests outside the US? Looks like OWS wants to stand in solidarity with their communist brothers.

May Day dates back to the 19th century and is considered a national holiday in scores of countries in Europe, South America and Asia. It has roots in the leftist movement, and labor groups and progressive activists traditionally use the day for public demonstrations.

3% seems a bit ... high?

Are you going to say that December 25th isn't originally a pagan holiday worshiping the sun typically with hedonistic orgies????

spidey is not a dumb ass. He's actually unable to comprehend any information that contradicts his dogma.

You may note that he continues linking Wiki's "International Workers' Day" page without realizing many of the eighty nations listed are anything but Marxist. He reads the page, but sees only the nations he recognizes as "Communist".

Did you bother to READ what the reasoning behind May Day is? It doesn't matter what the country is, it's the IDEA behind it and the reason. Do you remember what the May Day protests were about last year? Or the year before? HISTORY! Learn from it.

Are you trying to tell me May Day isn't a communist or workers party day?

You do realize that not all Labor or Workers' organizations are Communist?

It's that, and more, which is the part you seem to be unable to fathom. May Day celebrations pre-date Marx by millenia.

It's remarkable how truly delusional individuals seem to be able to find a niche where they can function in society while dwelling on paranoid fantasies in their off time. As elaborate as some are, I think they dwell on such all the time, every possible waking minute. If I believed in demonic possession, well, I'd say exorcism was the only hope.

I don't think you know what May Day is either. Go google some about its history, meaning and origin. It's also called international workers day. You know, the day for the proletariat to rise up and stop capitalism.

OWS' 15 minutes ran out last November. Arab Spring for America lol.

This is what democracy looks like! Let's shut down commerce, business and property rights! Destroy capitalism and the bbbbbbanksters!

Tell me again it isn't a hard left communist movement, one would have to completely ignore the message to state that.

May Day is whatever spidey has determined it is. Sure, people have been celebrating it since before Christ, but it only dates to the 19th century (which also somehow pre-dates the Bolshevik Revolution that he's implying it's all part of, but let's not let all those contradictions throw us off). Spidey knows the real meaning of May Day.

And potheads smoke weed on 4/20 to honor Adolf Hitler.
