Shields up, divert, divert, divert
Wow, your posts are up to 5 words now, even though 3 of them are the same word.
Shields up, divert, divert, divert
There were 2 messages actually. One about the people killing in the name of religion, and then Obama's jabs at Christianity after his little high-horse comment. What message did you take from high high-horse comment?
We see sectarian war in Syria, the murder of Muslims and Christians in Nigeria, religious war in the Central African Republic, a rising tide of anti-Semitism and hate crimes in Europe, so often perpetrated in the name of religion.
So how do we, as people of faith, reconcile these realities -- the profound good, the strength, the tenacity, the compassion and love that can flow from all of our faiths, operating alongside those who seek to hijack religious for their own murderous ends?
Humanity has been grappling with these questions throughout human history. And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. In our home country, slavery and Jim Crow all too often was justified in the name of Christ. Michelle and I returned from India -- an incredible, beautiful country, full of magnificent diversity -- but a place where, in past years, religious faiths of all types have, on occasion, been targeted by other peoples of faith, simply due to their heritage and their beliefs -- acts of intolerance that would have shocked Gandhiji, the person who helped to liberate that nation.
I'm not sure what you are asking me. I told you what I believe his remarks meant. You keep focusing on a coupl eof lines but you have to look at the context of those lines. Here is part of the speech surrounding those lines.
Does reading that give you a fuller understanding of what the high horse comment meant?
Wow, your posts are up to 5 words now, even though 3 of them are the same word.
You know exactly what I am asking you. Those lines set the context and you know it but you have to deny it all to protect your faith in Obama. Good job hack. We know Obama will never do any wrong in your eyes.
I still don't see what there is to be outraged over. And lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ. My faith is in my critical thinking. He talks about attacks on all faiths then talks about what Christians have done and then talks about what is happening in India. But yet you think he is just attacking Christians? I don't read your outrage in those words.
Even if you decided to isolate his remarks to only these words taking out the context before and after.
I still don't see what there is to be outraged over.
They aren't taken out of context, they set the context. Remove the damn blinders.
What is the context that they set? You've lost me.
If the numerous posts in this thread hasn't made you see it yet, you probably never will. I can't think of anything else to explain it more than what's already been explained in here.
Early candidate for most ironic post of the year.
9. New record for you.
What happened to that John Connor troll. He was entertaining for a bit, in his contrived buffoonery.
So this existential threat of the Obozo administration...http://www.theblaze.com/stories/201...ial-prayer-breakfast-speech&utm_reader=feedly
Horseshit.
Nobody is forgiving atrocities by anyone here except, possibly, you.
The very words, "muslims killed more" that you allude to requires that other religions have also killed to be true.
The forgiving or ignoring of christian (or other religion) atrocities is simply not happening.
...but then you'll try every trick in the book to not have to answer the question you don't want to hear the answer to, eh?
This entire thread is full of examples of Christians downplaying, ignoring, forgiving, and diverting atrocities committed by followers of their religion in an effort to demonize Islam in its place. Many Christians in this thread are ACTUALLY guilty of what they incorrectly claim that Obama is doing. The irony is so thick I could use it as gravy at Thanksgiving. And not a single person in this thread other than those trying to forgive Christian atrocities has tried to forgive any by other religions. They've been accepted and have been pointed out that much like you can't hold all Christians in contempt for the horrible acts done by their predecessors, you can't hold all Muslims in contempt for what groups like ISIS do. You in fact have to work with the majority of Muslims to stop groups like ISIS. But people like you, John Connor, michal1980, and Matt1970 want to sit here and demonize Islam while saying that your Christian shit don't stink, or that it's ok because it doesn't stink as bad as Muslims' shit. You are all very much riding on this high horse that the President was talking about. Because you're all really just shitty people. (the people in this thread, not Christians in general)
And the lie is?You and the president are just a flat out liars who got called on your bullshit.
If the numerous posts in this thread hasn't made you see it yet, you probably never will. I can't think of anything else to explain it more than what's already been explained in here.
And the lie is?
And the lie is?
You already say thrasher's. Obama's was the comment about people on their high-horse thinking it only happens in Islam. Nobody thinks that and he knows it.
I generally don't think he knows. Seems like he's just regurgitating and repeating talking points he's heard on fox news.
From a school in Pakistan to the streets of Paris, we have seen violence and terror perpetrated by those who profess to stand up for faith, their faith, profess to stand up for Islam but, in fact, are betraying it.
We see ISIL, a brutal, vicious death cult that, in the name of religion, carries out unspeakable acts of barbarism terrorizing religious minorities, like the Yazidis, subjecting women to rape as a weapon of war, and claiming the mantle of religious authority for such actions. We see sectarian war in Syria, the murder of Muslims and Christians in Nigeria, religious war in the Central African Republic, a rising tide of anti-Semitism and hate crimes in Europe, so often perpetrated in the name of religion.
Here he is, continuing to ignore that followers of Christianity downplay atrocities committed by Christians because "Muslims are worse" in their opinion.
