Idiot (referring to Obama of course). There are better ways to phrase it than to turn it into a soundbite for the opposition to increase turnout.

Watching the video in context, it seems that he was tired and messed up what he intended to say. He was talking about muslims/christians, and was trying to talk about how McCain branded him as a muslim.

But it still disgusts me that this is an issue to people if it were true.

Why does it disgust you that some people would oppose having a Muslim president?

hmm, I wonder...

Would it disgust you if some people opposed having a Klansman president?

The same reason why I oppose segregation, bans on interracial and gay marriages.

It's discrimination. I don't care if people disagree with Muslim "values" because they don't see it as the same as Christian "values". Those "values" are subjective nonsense, and has no place in the Federal Government.

I work with people of all faiths and backgrounds, and I have several friends too. I don't understand anyone that's as ignorant enough to oppose the Muslim faith in general.

I agree with Legend. I have worked with a lot of Muslims and have never had a problem with them.

Although I am NOT a fan of the ones who require their women to cover their heads. Otherwise the fact that they are Muslim and I am Christian has never been an issue.

"...you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith."

Meaning, "mccain never claimed obama is muslim". Not that "mccain never talked about obama's existent muslim faith".

Reading/hearing comprehension for the win.

You have been instructed to correct your misleading and untrue title here twice now by mod PM, the first time more than one hour ago. You seem to have chosen not to constructively respond.

If you don't change it with the next 10 minutes, you will be given a vacation.

So to befriend someone, work with somebody, or see them as qualified for a non-religious job, I have the support their religion? I have to dig up all of the tenets of their faith and approve of them?

I'm sure there's some pretty vile stuff in fundamentalist varieties of the Muslim faith. Then again, that could be said of nearly every religion. Fundamentalist Christianity has some pretty nasty shit in it. Like half of the stuff in Leviticus is unjust/evil.

Seems pretty clear that you've got some radical social beliefs yourself, and I don't see this conversation going anywhere enlightening. I'm out.

You said that you don't understand anyone who opposes the Muslim faith. Therefore, you must at the very least know the tenets of the Muslim faith or else you'd not be able to make that judgment.

Forgive me, but I don't know how. I just recently read your PMs, as I didn't know I had them. I'm used to vBulletin forums, so this one is quite foreign to me.

That's ok, you still have 3 minutes left before your vacation starts. Use the edit button at the lower left of your title post. It's that simple. But you had better hurry.

Quit playing stupid and do it immediately.

An odd comment to make after the title has been changed, oh vengeful internet god.

I'm not sure why it was directed at me. Must've misfired.

BTW, I saw that this morning and predicted some people would get excited over it.

No, because I would agree with them.

When choosing a president, it's wise to look at the candidate's values before making a decision. And since most people's values are directly linked to their religious beliefs, it makes sense to examine their religion. It is not prejudice or discrimination to make an educated choice when electing someone to public office.

It was a simple slip of the tongue, and now a very few people want to make a mountain out of a molehill.

So everything Obama says is a slip of he tongue, but anything a Republican says is a calculated speech?
Do you want a guy representing our nation that has so many slips of the tongue? Though with his thinking, that's probably the only way he'll be able to deal with Russia is to offer Putin some tongue.

He said, quite clearly, that McCain hasn't directly accused him of having a "Muslim faith". He even clarifies it. Anyone with two brain cells can see that.

Raise your hands if you can't.

Also, the title is completely out of context; even the story you linked says he didn't admit it.

"My Muslim faith" I heard it clear as day. Whether he is or not is not the issue, the issue is he lying about something, and bigger, is all you Obamabots claim he is some great orator, when infact all is, is a great speech reader.
With the amount of "miss-spoken" and "out of context" things he's said, youd think he was Ronald Regan in his last years.
