Couldn't you have broke it to them a little easier?

Wait until the young folks find out to what degree they're subsidizing the old folks. This is going to be great!!

Sadly the young folks are going to have a "wait...what!?" moment. This isn't what dear leader sold us! This sucks!

we already pay social security and medicare. Guess what, we'll be old someday too.

You might feel differently if you were one of the tens of thousands staring down death and/or bankruptcy because you can't get health insurance. Crisis.

Unfortunately for all of us the Left's solution to one person's crisis is to take something away from someone else to pay for a vote. The Dems are not going to solve this issue they will only make it worse because none of them are interested in true reform.

That's not the left's solution, that's how taxes work. Or is that only OK when tax dollars go to KBR contracts?

A person, or a small group of people in crisis does not make it is crisis for the country. Using that logic, we're ALWAYS in crisis. More people die in this country every year from drunk driving than lack of medical attention and I dont hear anyone yelling CRISIS about that.

Dont be so fucking dramatic.

Maybe you have double the coverage ;)

You can't have double the coverage, they will call it a Cadillac plan if you do and tax it even more.

Stupidest thing I ever heard, you can't buy all the insurance you want, just what they determine you need.

Someone's never heard of Lloyd's of London.

In 2008, an estimated 11,773 people died in drunk driving crashes involving a driver with an illegal BAC (.08 or greater). These deaths constitute 31.6 percent of the 37,261 total traffic fatalities in 2008. (Source: NHTSA, 2009)

Nearly 45,000 people die in the United States each year -- one every 12 minutes -- in large part because they lack health insurance and can not get good care, Harvard Medical School researchers found in an analysis released on Thursday.

"We're losing more Americans every day because of inaction ... than drunk driving and homicide combined," Dr. David Himmelstein, a co-author of the study and an associate professor of medicine at Harvard, said in an interview with Reuters.

Don't be so fucking wrong.

heh...ok fine we'll use your numbers. 1.7% of the deaths in the USA every year are from lack of health care insurance. Hardly a crisis.

Dont be so dramatic.

edit: using the Harvard numbers, more people die every year from flu. Or Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis...and no one even fucking knows what that is lol

How is your rates doubling Obama's fault? Did I miss something like a bill being passed and signed by him?

Why are you guys arguing terminology? 45,000 people dying per year, and a lot more faced with a lifetime of preventable medical issues, is something we probably should do something about, even if it doesn't fit your definition of "crisis" exactly.

There are several GOP sponsored bills on the floor. Of course, they wont make it past commitee, but theyre there (partisan politics ~by both sides~ FTL). About a month ago there were 32 GOP sponsored bills floating around, but that has probably changed by now. So you may want to amend your statement to "I think I'll stick with the folks that have a majority and is getting the most attention"

I really thought you were smarter than this but I guess you are just the typical liveral...any bill is better than nothing? So you don't care what their plan is as long as they have one? This bill is a turd, if you don't think so then you need some more education and experience in life.

I'll stick with the free market that started with nothing but trading chickens for a doctors visit, and turned it into the best health care the world has ever seen.

A fucking Men.

And I love how ignorant people say ideas or bills from Repubs haven't been put forward. It's complete denial of facts on their part. When one says this you can immediately put them in the "fucking stupid, misinformed or deliberately ignorant" category. I expect more from Rainsford, but sadly he belongs in this category.

The patient's choice act is the easiest example to squash anybody that believes the right don't offer solutions, ideas and legislation to fix this "crisis". One can also look at amendments to the house and senate bills proposed by repubs to see even more of the incredible ideas being put forward. To say that repubs don't have a plan, have not put ideas, bills and action forward is to admit to being totally uninformed or just plain ignorant of the issue.
