How about they just offer this as a voluntary program, how come liberals always have to force people to participate in their programs that are so great? If its so awesome, people should be begging to sign up.

People have been donating their time and resources before Obama was ever born. Americans give massive amounts of money to charity every year. If Obama can inspire people to voluntarily help others, that's great. It is any kind of mandatory service that I would oppose.

How about society making you earn money if you want to eat? Why isn't the US a giant farm where you can grow food and live for free and only work if you want to? Why would a little more slavery bother you? In Egypt it used to be if you wanted a house you made some mud bricks and built one. No mortgage, no debt to anybody.

LOL, I know what the site is about, and no it isn't about any kind of mandatory service request.

But what I oppose is the mentality that has come from some of this administration. Biden does support the idea of mandatory service. Again, I have zero problems with people voluntarily giving their time and money to help others, in fact that kind of humanity would be a necessity in a libertarian state, it's a necessity now, and it's also a reality. But when these humanitarian acts become mandatory, and they aren't as of yet, they cease to be just that. We cannot forget what being free means, and only through the power of choice can we be moral and do good. Otherwise we just be and do, we are ants.

Because we can't live and survive in chaos. Anarchy cannot exist, thus, I believe the most efficient use of resources can only be decided upon by a government protected free market capitalist state. What good is being alive if you are not free? Being able to breathe air and pump blood does not equate to being alive, IMO.

rofl, and even if it was mandatory, how much do the cons outweigh the positives? It's like those idiots that think high school shouldn't be mandatory because a very small fraction of people in history have been successful without a full high school education. All in the name of freedom. Of course, by that definition of freedom no one is free and everyone is shackled, since there are about a million laws that "hold us down".
