Yeah he sounds like a throwback to JFK. Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country:thumbsup:

See the bolded part. The similarities end there.

Well, on one hand, you have the largest tax cut in history. On the other, you have the largest tax hike.

I wish the OP (and far too many others) would get over the concept that volunteering your services has anything to do with your political beliefs. It doesn't. I've spent a lot of time at volunteer services and have worked alongside those of almost all political bents.

It's a matter of doing what's right and not being selfish. Believe it or not a lot a us volunteers feel we get more out of what we do than what we put in.

I don't believe citizenship is a privilege, it should be a right by birth. You can't choose where you were born and if you're expected to abide by rules you must also by extension be granted the privileges.

I completely agree but AFAIK there is no 'mandatory volunteering' here.

Ohhhh, OK, I get it now:

If Obama said it, or if he even had a favorable passing thought in his head about something, then I'm supposed to be against it. Got it.

Isn't this bordering on a troll thread?

More community service bashing from republicans. Next up free speech, apple pie, and puppies.

The whole premise of the OP is absurd. Not the content, the OP's intention.

To be an ass and attack Obama for nothing?

And for the record, I do a lot of volunteer work, and I think the idea of forced volunteerism is terrible.

However, the children that want to run around and kick and scream about Obama, regardless of context, are pathetic.

Nope wasn't trying to be an ass just making sure the Obama voters do their part and not welch. Of course, I suspect no one will ever admit they voted for him and won't go to community service but thats just the way it is. People want their cake and eat it too.

However, the children that want to run around and kick and scream about Obama, regardless of context, are pathetic.

I'm sure Obama is doing wonderful things for our country. Just look at all the corporate people he has around him, how much money he has spent and how much he wants to, look at how he got us out of Iraq like he said he would. Nope, I'm happy as a lark with Obama

Rahm Emanuel on the other hand is not a partial nut, he's a complete through and through nut. But I guess his service is useful to Obama, just like Rahm's like minded Vice President Biden. :D
