Sorry, I just don't see it that way. I see it as appeasement and political correctness. Tell you what...when Saudi Arabia starts allowing Christian churches to be built in its country and stops confiscating religious crosses/jewelry and Bibles from visitors' luggage, then maybe I'll allow a mosque near the site of where 3k of my countrymen died at the hands of Saudi terrorists.

Once again our values are compared to those who have next to none. Why? Seriously. Why?

In the memory of the Muslim Americans that worked and died in the WTC let's build a Mosque right there on site. Here's to you, rave on!

Yeah, so let's allow the building of the Mosque to show our sensitivity, respect, and memory toward the 70 muslims that worked and died in the WTC, while erecting a structure that will serve as a symbol of triumph for future generations of extremists in the entire Middle East. Sorry, that doesn't make sense to me. There's a larger consideration here that goes to the preservation of our culture against those who seek to change it by exploiting the very freedoms our country provides. Move the fvcking mosque elsewhere and I'll give you 2 for free.

Any logical Muslim or otherwise knows it's just in bad taste to build a Mosque where thousands of Americans were slaughtered but the radical Muslims and radical left (one and the same) don't see a thing wrong with it.

I'm not sure who hates the United States more...

JFC you're a moron.

I right with you. I ripped some of these same bastards in another thread. This has nothing to do with needing more space, freedom of religion, bigotry, or any of that jazz. Its about a group people erecting a damn monument to the motherfrackers who did this. Its funny, why didn't they consider or put in motion plans to build this mosque before 9/11? Why didn't they tear down the old building and start putting up a new one before. And to hear Obama go there and like kiss their asses makes me wanna vomit. Then he says its hallowed ground? Really? Next we will build a mosque in Arlington Cemetary. Its a damn joke......
Hows it feel to walk in the shoes of a Klansman? First the anti Gay bigotry and now this. We should start calling you da Gran Whizzer:twisted:

That's great, people will have the right to hate Muslims and Islam even more, because that's all that's going to happen.

And rightfully so. I think its a very bad idea for them to build it. they would score so many more points with people in the US and hell the world if they just moved it out of respect.

while i think its disgusting and disrespectful they have the right to build it.

To the proponents of this mosque, do you support it ONLY because the muslims have a legal right to build or do you have other reasons?

Also, can someone find a link to a source of their fundings?

I believe this is another issue with the mosque, either they don't have any funding, or are refusing to let anyone know where the money is coming from. I've heard it said a few different ways depending on who's saying it, hard to nail down the truth.

Klansmen? Were you alive on 9/11/01? Or were you laid up somewhere in a slobbering drunken stupor? At least am not some internet phony. You guys post these threads like you are some some kind of elite intellectuals. That somehow people who voice opposition are somehow just bigots? The question is not whats wrong with me, but whats wrong with you? Just because its legal doesn't make it right.

As for the gay quip? I am sorry I believe in the definition of marriage that made me. My grandparents who were married over 50 years till death, my parents 45 years, out of 12 marriages of aunts and uncles, one divorce. A total combined of like 300-350 years of marriage and I have over 60 first cousins. So excuse me if I have been "brain washed" because I have seen very successful marriage. Next time I'll get one them with over 40 years to consult you.

I don't support it, I support their right to build it. I don't support any Religious Institutions, especially Islam which I consider the most insecure out of the three Abrahamic religions.

Obama seems hell-bent, bound and determined to be a one-termer.

And what group would want to build a mosque near the old WTC site anyway... and to what end?

Well if they were being supported by Terrorist groups I'm positive HLS would be all over it. They also seem rather moderate (well for Muslims) so even though it's not inconceivable, I don't think the government of SA is funding them. I could be wrong though as I haven't any info about it one way or another.

Remember that you are speaking to a greater enemy than those who hit us on 9-11. You're speaking to their enablers. An American whose poltical allies have the will and the power to shut down opposition to Islamic terrorism.

This is a feud not solved by civility. They know it, and call you names. Do not forget that.

That's the rub here. Just because it's the legal thing to do, does not mean it's the right thing to do. As a NYC resident, I strongly object to this decision.

Yeah right, we are enablers because we insist on upholding the Constitution. I'm also not a big fan of guns but I also support your right to have them. So in a sense I'm more of a true American than you are as I don't pick and choose which parts of the Constitution I support.

You would think the people would got their vengeance fix from watching the US military murder civilians in Iraq by now.
Its funny how people consider it a monument, but really, expecting any intelligence from people like that is worthless.

How many Churches have been denied permits to build in this nation? Quite a lot I imagine.

A Mosque would be no different except for those who stand by what it, and its location combined, stand for.

Their decision to build there or the decision that it's their Constitutional Right to build a Mosque there? If it's the former that OK, if it's the latter then you are wrong.
