Not making excuses for anyone but the VA hospitals have had problems there was even a movie about it. It was a hot topic back in the 80s 90s.

Remeber...

Article 99 (1992)

A group of doctors in a veteran's hospital must contend with their hopeless situation: too many patients and not enough beds. The main cause of their problems is bureaucratic belt-tightening by the hospital administrators.

Looney tunes. All the liberals and Democrats that I know aren't particularly happy with Obama. There are no crazed/loyal followers that I know of.
Just because people don't like Obama doesn't mean that they're automatically going to support the Republicans and/or Wingnuts. A lot of Obama's and the Democrats' support comes purely by default, ie today's "conservatives" are mostly fear - based ranting crazies so what choice do the sane people have?

Thank you. Obama has shown himself to be too much like what's left of centrist Repubs to make the Liberal base very happy at all. What we need is a new New Deal, but what we got for the most part is Republican-lite.

Too bad Obama's first hundred days weren't a whole lot more like FDR's first hundred days.

6 years later?

He had to forge his birth certificate to appear legitimate first. But there are layers, so we know!
Honestly, I don't know why you people are complaining about an illegal Kenyan President not doing anything about the VA. That's for AMERICANS to decide! And the only True Americans are Republicans. So I'm sure there's no problem with the VA because any problems would've been taken care of under Bush.

If that helps you sleep at night.

Here's how it breaks down. If Obama was unaware of all this then he's off the hook as far as I'm concerned. If he wasn't and ignored it all then he's shit. No Democrats nor Republicans were harmed in the phrasing of this post, and neither was his birth certificate.

How the Hell would he know about surreptitious malfeasance by VA doctors before it was discovered & blasted all over the Media? How would Shinseki?

Umm has it occurred to you that perhaps Presidents can know about things before the media tells them?

Your response is curious though. If he didn't know he didn't know. Like I said he gets a pass from me (although I really don't matter in all this). Now if it can be demonstrated otherwise he's shit. Why would you have a problem with that?

Wow, Obama was less than golden for a whopping sixteen minutes.

It's a new record!

It's telling that you can't differentiate between someone talking about the overall health of an agency and talking about specific things one should be outraged about.

Oh wait, it's you. It isn't surprising at all. Commitment to the delusion in every thread, at every time.

I wouldn't. OTOH, Malkin et al are approaching this from the point of view that he has to prove there's no Bigfoot.

It seems that the VAs problems are mostly the results of inadequate funding. Basically not enough medical professionals staffed to meet the number of patients.

That would be it. The problem is that no one is giving it a high enough priority. To be fair to the Dems they've been more willing to provide more funding (and the Republicans can suck it), but it would be nice if the VA weren't a football.

Well screw those trying to make something that isn't. I'm interested in knowing what the facts are and for my part it's going to take more than one source to convince me.

I think it fair to say there might be a bit of a corruption problem too. One reason for lying about wait times was to ensure they got their bonuses.

If that's true, then those involved should be fired immediately.

This is the first issue in Obama's presidency where there appears to be true malfeasance of some sort. I don't know where it goes, but regardless there's no way I can see where the executive branch isn't culpable for what happened.

It's interesting that the Obama administration, which by modern standards has been the least scandal plagued in decades, will probably merit the least attention for this, despite it being the most serious breach so far.

The VA isn't "sexy". Neither party has much to gain or lose for that matter. It's politically useful on occasion but the public and consequently the politicians are more focused on livelier subjects

Obama has went to extremes to fix the VA.
For one, Obama knows that ending war reduces that vet needing VA assistance.
Two, Obama knows the VA system has been stressed for decades.
Three, Obama knows republicans have cut vet benefits for decades, over and over.
Four, Obama knows the republicans would love nothing more that to kill off the VA replacing it with private healthcare. Good luck as a vet under THAT system...
And last, if anyone truly wants to figure out the issue here, ask GW.
Ask GW and Cheney how it was they intended to treat returning vets from the Bush wars while his party blocked assistance for those returning vets.
Just because GW is no longer president doesn't mean he is off the hook.
Want to dissect a crime, ask the criminal.
For that you need to visit an ex president chopping grass down in Texas.

The best thing you can do for Obama is to stop being his Renfield. Oh, have you thought how to defend his honor for this abomination? Maybe blame Bush? The more you defend the worse your leader looks. Let the facts determine the merit of the accusation.

Lol! Another righty retard thread full of blaming the other team while, again, not providing any, none, zero, zilch, solutions except more finger pointing.

If this was a post office renaming the republicans would have already passed 30 bills fixing the problem!
Totally uncalled for.....

Ps. Isn't it pathetic the only time republicans in congress ever display any heart felt concern for vets is around Memorial Day.
Come Tuesday they will once again fall in line to cut VA benefits.
Face it folks, republicans in congress look at vets as part of the "takers" in society.
THAT is fact!
