Oh please... I just watched the whole thing on Tivo. He did a great job. That comment was probably not the best thing to say, but it was well placed and not really a big deal. The whole 3 segment thing went very well. I liked what he had to say.

You, on the other hand are trying your hardest to make it into something larger than it is.

 
Yeah it really wasn't that bad, but people are so PC these days, it's ridiculous. This comment could easily come back to bite him in the butt, but I doubt the MSM or any special interest groups will make a big deal out of it.

If I said something like that around my friends, I'd get chastised a bit, withdraw the statement (hopefully with some sort of humble wit), and it'd be effectively forgotten 2 minutes later.

El Presidente says it, and I can guarantee you someone somewhere is going to make a lawsuit out of it.

No, they won't. Who the hell is going to sue, for what? His political opponents will try to exploit it. The White House has already issued a statement to shut it down.

I make jokes like this, but I'm not a political figure. I don't know why people can't get their tongues out of Obama's orifice for a moment to appreciate the fact that this comment coming out of the president is ill conceived, at best.
 
I don't think it's a big deal to make a joke, but I assure you if it was a republican that made that comment the MSM would be all over them. They'll give Obama a free pass, but it was a dumb thing to say.
 
sounds like something I would say, then again I am not the president...if the groups represending those who are are special needs don't make a stink out of that I would be surprised.
 
This association is probably made from the term handicapping in sports. Why so we use such offensive language and then turn around and ridicule somebody who says he played like the handicapped which is exactly what he did. People who are not so good are handicapped are they not?
