I actually considered starting a thread to keep updated just to list the ongoing idiocy that we can predict of these attacks.

Do you see nothing wrong with the sitting president of the United States making fun on the special olympics?

Bush said some stupid crap in his day, I am the decider...nookular..et al... but this is way beyond that.

but he is the Messiah. All is forgiven.

Perhaps, but it damned certain does not come anywhere near the "bring it on!" blunder/taunt.

"George W. Bush, you have asked us to 'bring it on.' And so help me, [we will ] like you never expected. Do you have another challenge?" The video then shows explosions around a U.S. military vehicle.
I contend that, giving the enemy propaganda opportunities like that one, is way beyond saying you bowl like a retard.

So, would you guys rather have a beer with a guy who will make fun of special people? Or one who won't?

If you are at the bowling alley and see an inexperienced adult bowler throw a gutter ball, is it now politically incorrect to say, "what a retard!".

If you're the president, yes.
Definitely a stupid mistake that should never have come out of his mouth as the President.
I know. I am really surprised some people cannot just admit it was a very stupid thing to say.

Precisely. And any complaint about Obama's remark (which I agree is nothing to get bent out of shape over) is certainly more substantive than the endless parade of people who made fun of Bush's "nuk-u-ler" pronunciation.

The bottom line is this:

If you're Republican, just let it go. You don't get to bitch and moan about how everyone's too sensitive and then get angry over something like this. If the PC stuff really annoys you, then don't make a case of this just because you think it might be expedient; if you do, you're a hypocrite.

If you're a Democrat, take a long, hard look at yourself and ask honestly if you would have been upset about this if Bush had done it. If the answer is truly "no", then I applaud your even-handedness. If the answer is "yes", meditate on why the double-standard is OK.

When you are the worst president in recent memory then every stupid thing you do merely exacerbates your reputation as a dumbass. When you are seen as a bright, intellectual, optimistic figure who enjoys a high percentage of the people's good will, then they are more forgiving of your gaffes. Why does this surprise you exactly?

Sure it was a dumb thing to say, but for Obama we consider that the anomaly, not par for the course.

I knew it was a stupid thing to say as soon as I heard it come out of his mouth last night. I did a quick Google search and sure enough the conservative bloggers were already over it. It was a pretty un-PC thing to say, but I'd say the overall interview went VERY well.

It's a one-day story at best. That being said, nothing tops this :)

It's not a problem, he's still the man doling out the cash. He could call them a bunch of ****** and they'd still have no choice but to vote for the hand that feeds them.

On the bright side, if they give chase he'll probably be able to outrun most of them.

I can't stand Obama, but this is a complete non-issue. People are going to make verbal gaffs, it happens.
