The problem with Obama is that he is soooo clearly setting himself up to make a whitehouse run. Personally I think hes just a 100% political whore who will do whatever it takes to get into office. I'm just amazed he has so many people convinced that hes is a political outsider when he is really the exact opposite.

Totally agree. My primary investment account was earning 35%. We were building, adding on, investing, spending, living it up. Now it's the dark days, waiting for the tax and spend, stay the course- Republicans to finish destroying what's left of the country so we can start rebuilding.
Obama and Hillary have more smarts between them then the Bush cabinet in total.

I don't think any sitting Senator has a chance at the presidency. Everyone's too polarized anymore... but you kinda have to be to be a Senator. That's why of the last 10 elected presidents, only 2 had been Senators (FDR and JFK). Look for a few more governors to poke their heads out of the ground in the next year.

Interesting how people are lining up behind a guy when they know so little about him. I'll admit, he intrigues me too. Young, good looking, intelligent, well spoken, full of energy... Can anyone tell me where he stands on the issues? Any of them?

Pro-Abortion (including, according to one pundit I saw on TV yesterday, partial birth abortion)
Health care is a right - pro socialized medicine
Against school vouchers
Opposes death penalty
Wants to ban ALL semi-automatic weapons (There goes my 9mm and my brand new Springfield .40)
Repeal the capital gains tax cut - pro death tax
No on ANWR - Would vote for an outright ban on drilling in ANWR (Definitely not voting for him)
Voted against the July '07 Iraq pull out
Seems to be pro-military
Has voted for campaign finance reform - Voted yes for a lobbyist gift ban.

Overall he's a fairly left leaning candidate. Politically he's sounds like a typical liberal democrat. But he has a stage presence like I haven't seen in a candidate in a LONG time. When he talks, you can't help but like him. In that regard he's the Anti-Hill. Hill sounds like a dying cat on stage and there's very little about her that draws people in. She's as warm as a fudge-cicle.
People have been saying that Obama is too young or is lacking in experience. I don't think that will matter much when they're both standing side by side on stage. In a debate, Barak will mop the floor with Hill on likeability points alone. As for the experience card... It's not like Hill has the market cornered on experience. She was first lady and has one term in the senate under her belt. Not exactly a huge advantage when you think about it.
If Barak runs, I think he has a great chance.
