I like Obama. He's actually intelligent and good-hearted for a populist. But the fact is the country is not ready for this kind of ticket, and elitism like yours will only make people resentful and harden public opinion against it.

The Dems don't have an FDR and, if they did, I guarantee that you wouldn't like him.

I think Obama would be like Carter; best intentions in the world, but out of his league in the big chair. He needs to serve as ambassador to some tough place like Sudan or Syria for the international experience before taking a shot at the WH.

What the country needs most I think, is a Congress that can fix the current domestic mess we have, and a President that can do well in the international arena. Our current status in international policies and politics is nothing short of a disaster.
