So now the righties declare that the government has no obligation to track down national security leaks? That the government should be denied the use of legal tools to do it's job? Legally requesting call records is spying?

Doesn't this stuff stink when you have to reach that far up your ass to pull it out?

Moreover, go look up the pentagon papers for government trying to extend its reach to the press. The media is protected from this type of crap for a VERY good reason.

Unless you can cite the relevant legal and Constitutional violations, your accusations are bullshit.

Requesting phone records to track security leaks has a long precedent accepted by both sides without significant issue.

If you have identified a defect or shortcoming in the legal framework, great! Define it, explain the defect or shortcoming, propose corrections, and discuss it.

Don't you think that the Attorney General should be required to get a warrant signed by a judge and have probable cause before tapping phones? Do you think that it shouldn't be a requirement in any national security case? Did you, and do you now fully support the Patriot Act? Do you think that the media should not only be protected by the 4th Amendment search and seizures, but also be protected by the 1st Amendment freedom of the press?

or is it that your guy Obama and his administration has seriously fucked up once again and you went into the standard Democrat defend Obama mode?

2008 election was a third world charismatic election. It was pretty obvious Obama was a chameleon hiding is true opinion of America. No surprise to me he has tried to rule like a hostile foreigner. The whole admin is just a mafia. Wait until the EPA email scandal gets rolling this week. That will be another kicker. It pays to remember what made Watergate Watergate was when GOP members turned on each others. Right now lots of Democats see the mess and will not want to go down with it.
