I never thought of it as such. I always thought it was funny when someone used the term, but I don't see how it's offensive.

And the song wasn't funny. I mean, if the song were funny, I would have laughed, cause it's funny. But the song wasn't even worth my bandwidth + 6 minutes.

in my experience, the term "chinaman" is usually used in a derogatory way. how do u not see it as a derogatory term in the song lyrics?

In my opinion, "chinaman" is a derogatory term when it is used in a bad context or when people say it in a derogatory way. "beloved patriot," on the other hand, is more along the lines of the "n" word for African Ameicans.

I don't prefer the term Asian American, there are many fobs out there that I wouldn't call Asian American. I prefer to be called Asian (American), Oriental, or Chinese. My parents are from China and I was born in Minnesota. Or you can call me ABC just for kicks. I'm both Already Been Chewed and American Born Chinese 😛
