Wow these people are complete idiots.

Only reinforces my opinion that radio DJs have incredibly low IQs.

Edit: Self-absorbed idiots.

Isn't that hypocritical? The DJ puts down Asians so then you put down all DJs? I'm curious, of all of the radio DJs that exist, what percentage of them do you have IQ data on? It's got to be around 90% or so, right?

DJs aren't a race. And yes, most of them are complete idiots.

No, it's not hypocritical.

My god, those people are fvcking stupid. Does anyone actually listen to this radio station? Or these morons?

That is offensive. They should fire the assclowns responsible for that parody.

i used to be a big Star and Buck fan until the whole Aaliyah incident. I can't listen to them anymore, they're just really annoying now.

on a related rant, on my morning commute, i drive to a bus parking lot and keep my car there.
20 minute drive, 5 different radio stations, ZERO songs played. if i hear one more z100 phone tap, i'm going to lose it.

I'm black, BTW, since that seems to matter in this thread.

I changed my mind and listened. Those two DJs need to be shot. I'll volunteer to do it. Stupid fvcking morons.

I don't live in NYC which I think is where Hot97 is broadcast, I've heard that they perform idiotic stunts like this quite often

Just to give you guys a historical reference.

Actually the word chinamen is from the Chinese word "zhi na ren" meaning a weak and feeble man who kow tows (in chinese its ke tou, another english word derived from Chinese) in front of any opposition.

I assume China is actually derived from chinamen as there is nothing in the chinese language that means the country which remotely sounds like China.

The chinese word for China is Zhong Guo, or the middle kingdom.

As to the song, the reason asians are easily portrayed as such is because in the past (say the 80s), asians probably didn't have enough political clout to really do anything.

Also, many Asians, due to a history of being exploited by their government whether domestic or foreign imperialist, have adopted a mindset of "if I don't make trouble, it'll all blow over" sort of approach.

Thus even in the states, you'll see asian american citizens who have the right to vote but demonstrate no political activism.

The only thing they did like this was when Aliyah died and they were breaking the news the DJ played sound effects of airplanes crashing. He got suspended for one day but that was one person. 200,000+ people died from the Tsunami and that bitch Miss Jones is unscathed.

And to think I was actually hoping Hot 97 would still fare well in morning show ratings, after Star & Buckwild went to Power 105, since Power 105 is a Clearchannel station.

I have never heard this interpretation. Regardless, Chinamen does come from the word " zhi na ren".

Hey come on. It's all in good humour. To most westerners, all asians are chinks or gooks. Big deal. Get over it.
