Opty 165

Where is this table stored, is it per instance?
Yes thats correct

Is there a difference in the construction of the table if you are initializing/constructing classes statically verses dynamically?
No Opty 165 takes care of all of that

What happens to this table when using Multiple Inheritance (assuming virtual base classes)? What about multiple virtual inheritance (diamond inheritance pattern)?
Duh it becomes an Opty 165

Answer or PM me, Mr. Well known programmer.
So how did I do?

EDIT: How about some ASM, very simple.
I want some ASM

How do I read (get value of) the EIP register?
Who cares?

He will not answer... In fact if he doesn't answer within the next 30 minutes, by his own standards (read the link I posted) he doesn't know the answer...

No that was a valid statement made by Zstream. Why in the worldd would NVidia recall the best selling product they have made in years. You don't recall a working product let alone a well selling working product, just because a faster product is comming out.

it is valid but I don't appreciate sarcasm.
I "think" I heard someone said NV is recalling remaining unsold 7800 parts from stores..
and I stand corrected.

You deserved for the recall remark any sarcasm that comes you way regarding it. Still trying to figure it out in my head why anyone would even think that a manufacturer would recall a successful non-defective product.

Cause this whole thread is a waste of time. And I feel like wasting my time. I dont care who is right or wrong in this arguement but I do know that out of everything posted in here there was probably about 5 posts on topic. Maybe I just want attention. ;)

Question for you. Why would post the answers to a question that was not directed at you?

Wow your a bit snappy today. Somebody piss you off. I think that robert was saying you could google the answers not that he was going to answer them. And while the questions are aimed at a different user, any user could come in and answer them it their choice. T o prevent it use the IM to post these questions.

if you consider yourself biased that is fine with me. I don't consider myself biased in this matter, so I don't have to "admit?" to anything. Obviously you are seeing me as biased because you are biased yourself. Try broaden your point of view and perhaps you will see me as neutral.

The point is, its okay to be biased, but not okay to flame others because of other's bias. I was simply comparing data (from 2 websites) when Joker came out and attacked me, only because I was consider "all benchs" rather than only "partial bench"aka high res with AA/AF that he would liked to see.

Dont admit it, doesnt really matter. Anyone with common sense can see you are.

Your "partial bench" agrument is silly at best. Its simply idiotic to run benchmarks of $600 cards, and SLI at 1024x768 with no AA/AF. Those numbers do not matter. Its as simple as that. You just want to give NV some "wins" so you include them. You'll notice real hardware sites, (AT, FS, Hard, Rage3D) do not use them. And its for a reason.

Whats wrong with VB2005?! :| I hate arrogant programmers like that.
Theres nothing wrong with VB2005, which from what I've seen is closely related to C#.
Besides both compile to MSIL anyway.
Nothing wrong with older versions of VB either.

Sorry, little sidenote. Alright, I'm back to lurking :p

There is nothing wrong with VB or C#. I have used a lot of VB, especially 5 and 6. Haven't done much in .NET with VB (a lot of C# and ASP though). They are especially good for RAD. Sorry if I offended you.

From PMs, beggerking knows C++ (and a bunch of other languages) so those questions shouldn't have been hard at all (they sound a lot more complicated then they are :p, single line answers including "compiler dependand" would have worked).

That is one reason why SLI / X-fire don't make sense in my opinion. If you wait for the prices to drop (buy one now and one later idea).... your board becomes discontinued. Well I guess that would only apply to SLI since you have to have matching card types (not sure about x-fire).

What I want to know with all these reductions(I'll believe the GTX512 at $399 when I buy one-and I would at that price!) is how are they going to sell the remaining 7800GTX's when you can very rarely see them for sale for less than $450! Who are going to buy these?

I think NV is recalling them..

I seriously doubt this. Once the cards are sold to the wholesale distributors, why would they care how long the cards sit of the shelf for??? You can still go into your local fry's and see FX series cards for sale. There won't be a recall.

I think he was referring to the post I had on the nvidia news web site (see earlier post):

Update on the 7800 512 GTX for $399 linked to by OP.... This was posted on Nvidia News: (see 2/25 email post)

7800 GTX 512MB - 2/25/06 @ 6:43 am - By: MikeC - Source: Email
I received the following email from EastLuna.com in regards to the availability of BFG's GeForce 7800 GTX OC 512MB graphics card. The GeForce 7800 GTX 512MB certainly turned out to be an elusive product. Although it provided top-notch performance at a sometimes ridiculously high price, some enthusiasts were left frustrated due to the lack of availability.

You requested a Stock Availability Notification at our web site on Saturday, December 31st concerning the BFG Technologies GeForce 7800 GTX OC 512MB GDDR3 PCIe Graphics Card and we just wanted to notify you that this product has unfortunately been retired, and is no longer available for sale.

We just wanted to let you know so you wouldn't be left in the dark about this change. Usually when a product is retired, that particular item has either been discontinued by the manufacturer, met our one year product shelf-life time limit, or we could no longer find a source for the product.

SOOOO... it looks like the 512 GTX may remain a phantom edition no matter what Nvidia drops the MSRP to? Of course everything is speculation until it happens.

it's my understanding with sli is you don't need matching brands or anything, you just need the same card - ie 2 7800gt's or 2 7800gtx's. so if you have a bfg, you can always pick up a similar evga or whatever, even if you have to get a used one from ebayo or buy/sell/trade. EOL'd or not, i don't think it would be very hard at all to find one.

with crossfire otoh, you need 1 master and 1 slave card (and while the regular x1800xt's have dropped considerably in price, the "master" cards have not), so that may be a bit trickier to come up with.

This is fantastic and believable news. Slower ram, cheaper cores means NV will be able to hit the same performance targets with the 7900 series as they currently do with 7800, but have lots more wiggle room to drop prices.

Since there aren't any other 'blow them outa the water' products scheduled until the DX10 generation, this is a very shrewd move. Offer comprable (yes, comprable. a few frames/sec is not going to make or break your experience in any new game) performance at at 50-70% the price and you will definitely get customers. ATI has a better card, but the costlier RAM means it'll have a price premium as well. Sales figures will tell us whether that premium is justified. Of course, there's the possibility of the X1900XL, but we won't go there just yet.

The quad SLI, while it makes 0 sense for normal people, is exactly the ticket for the e-peen set.

Exotic phantom hardware is fun to discuss, but products to let mainstream customers play new games on high res LCD monitors for reasonable $ is what the market needs. I get nostradamus points for predicting exactly this -- equivalent to current hardware, lower $. Balances out my wrong prediction re: ATI having a snowball's chance in hell of coughing up the X1900 at the end of Jan.

off topic: please ignore beggerking. he says absolutely insane things on topics he knows nothing about (e.g, 'cars are most efficient at 70 mph') , then spends 20 posts afterward trying to justify his ignorance. Just let it go, don't reply.
