If 7900gt is at $299, then 7800gt might be $200...that'd be a greater deal!
$400 for 7800gt sli would be sweet!

All the 7800 series cards production are ended and NV actually confirmed they want to clear inventory means that prices will go down day by day.

just merely PRESENTING them

Do you not understand how that could be trolling in this type of thread? To post worthless data for games that are no longer played or benchmarked in resolutions that are lower than people buying these cards would use, and all just to try to prop up the 7800GTX as being on par with the X1900XT/XTX when we already know from Anand's testing as well as other respected sites that it is simply not the case in most games at the resolutions people buying a $500 videocard are using?

Also, if beggar has been paying attention instead of filling this thread with arguments about whether or not he was trolling, he would know that the 7800 series is being discontinued. :-\

so blame the websites for publishing the "useless" data.... as they say, "don't shoot the messenger"...

besides, one man's garbage is another man's treasure.. what's useless to one person my not be to another.

too many here are far too uptight and spend far too much time looking for a fight.

argh... I hate nvidia, but I will still buy their products over ati right now... *sigh*

*Goes back into time spending a whopping $400 back in augest for a 7800GT and expecting to see the new 7900GT kick it's ass with higher clocks, 24 pipes and 90nm process*

Too bad this is something that never happened in the past with nvidia has much as it does now. I don't think the 7900GT will debut at $299, seems a bit low for a card that can beat the 7800gt. If anything it will be a crippled version or will be the same as a 7800GT and be slightly oc-ed or the crap brands.

What I want to know with all these reductions(I'll believe the GTX512 at $399 when I buy one-and I would at that price!) is how are they going to sell the remaining 7800GTX's when you can very rarely see them for sale for less than $450! Who are going to buy these?

It's been 7 month's, and you chose to buy with the Jonses. Blame the company not the consumer? LOL, nice.

I seriously doubt this. Once the cards are sold to the wholesale distributors, why would they care how long the cards sit of the shelf for??? You can still go into your local fry's and see FX series cards for sale. There won't be a recall.
