Haha, wow, I guess I see what AMD is trying to do from a marketing standpoint, but it comes off not as good-natured ribbing but petulant childishness. This isn't a college football game for goodness sake. I hope there aren't fights or any messiness of that sort... but it might make for some good laughs later on.

Just looking at replies in this thread, and how just about any thread for that regard - yeah, you could have fooled me.

#GOMYTEAMGO!!!!
#URTEAMSUX!!!

EDIT
I heard they're planning on bringing a few (3-4) PCs with AMD cpus and gpus and turning them on at the same time to trip the building's breakers.

Okay, this is just hilarious. Kudos good sir, kudos!

I think it's hilarious, even if AMD totally cancels the clown move, they already achieved their goal, which is for people to talk about them

Cant believe it. Reads like something out of the Onion.

Cant be a worthwile goal if most of the talk is ridicule.

So go a call for loads of their strongest advocates are called to go to the nvidia celebrations, that's not so terrible, right.

But then they are asked to make sure they are wearing AMD shirts and to do something interesting and take a picture to post so AMD can see them. Amd will be looking thru the pics And the people with the more interesting pictures may get some 'love" as a reward.

Yeah, sounds like everyone is over reacting.

I dont know whats most sad. Having 15000 die hard fanboys that is willing to do anything. Or actually trying to destroy something for others on purpose.

But again, with viral marketeers getting rewards to troll forums with point scores. Why aint I surprised. :(

What's most sad is the retarded anger in this thread.

Lighten up. They're not going to destroy anything. They'll be laughing stock. It'll be fun. It's no big deal.

Not all talk about you is good, or good for you. But, if they like people talking about how they look like they are begging for attention and doing this in poor taste then it is time for them to find new management in their marketing department.

Its just how AMD's viral marketing is meant to work. They mobilise their fan base to push their products whenever and where ever they want. Whether it be on social media, forums or Nvidia's events. In a lot of places they do it if the individuals involved get caught they get banned because its against the rules, indeed its kind of against the law in the USA as its mostly undeclared affiliation marketing. Being illegal is a big deal, while this is just an immature stunt if it goes badly (a fight is started for example) then it might be a very big deal.

I don't like this type of marketing, it causes a lot of problems.

It's not illegal to go to a party of company A wearing a t-shirt of company B.

Hell, my colleague comes to work in a jacket with the logo of our biggest company, because his wife happens to work there.

OK, This discussion is no longer about Nvidia 24 and it seems that you guys appear to be more interested in the AMD negativity. I am closing this thread until further notice. The mods will be reviewing this thread to see if it even salvageable at this point.

EDIT: After further review, this thread will remain closed. I would have to delete 90% of the posts in order to get this discussion back on track.
