Only at the "correct settings" meaning under 8GB.
Also, while the "for science" testing has value, throw the cards in the gen 3 and 4 slot systems they are much more likely to be found in. The GOAT will start to shine.

N1X being interesting or not will almost entirely depend on how well it can run win32 apps. That's what pretty much what's been killing all Windows+ARM initiatives for over a dozen years (starting with Surface RT).
true if it fails again at least Linux support will be great

Even then, interesting for what? It will likely cost more than Strix Halo but perform worse for gaming.

It has as many Shader cores as an RTX 5070, but less memory BW than a 5060. So maybe in Windows you can game on it like it's a 5060, and low end CPU.

Strix Halo's iGPU has a little over half the RAM bandwidth of the 5060 which it then needs to share with a whopping 16 cores Zen5.

I don't know how much L2 the iGPU in N1X but it should be a similar 32MB.

The BW issues isn't with the CPU side, it's on the GPU side, and both Strix Halo and N1X have essentially the same 256 bit LPDDR bus. Theoretically N1X has more GPU performance but without any more BW I doubt it matters much.

N1X will have the added burden of needing to emulate x86, and of course NVidia pricing.

I hate Gigabyte so much right now I am on the verge of melting down and striking out. First I get the 4090 Aorus Master and the first one destroys my entire computer and itself. I RMA the card through newegg since I just got it. Then the second destroys its own LCD module via bad firmware update in new computer. I had to pay over $200 to ship this one back as it had to be insured. I gave away the 3rd one to my nephew. Now my Gigabyte 5090 Aorus has self destructed the LCD module again via their shit software firmware update. If they don't RMA this card without charging me shipping I may go an hero.

I read one horror story about that and never installed their LCD firmware on my RX 6800 AORUS card. Also warned the buyer about it when I sold it recently. I wonder if you have trouble with stuff in general where your inner voice tells you don't do it and you do it anyway :p

Why do you keep buying Gigabyte cards?

Because I'm an idiot. I'm going to call them in the morning. I will be made whole one way or another. Even if I have to waste their time on the phone for hours on end. I once spent 4 hours wasting Google's chat support time to get a refund on a $5 ebook they screwed me on. Finally they just gave up. I will not pay for shipping this time.

Before caller ID was such a common thing (and subsequently. auto phone systems), I harassed companies into doing what I wanted in tech support situations. Every time they picked up the phone, it was me on the other end. Ah, good times...

Nvidia adding an extra year of support for win10. Maxwell and Pascal will go to quarterly updates after October.

"After a final Game Ready Driver release in October 2025, GeForce GPUs based on Maxwell, Pascal, and Volta architectures will transition to receiving quarterly security updates for the next three years (through October 2028). Our support lifetime for these GPUs reaches up to 11 years, well beyond industry norms.

Also, we’re extending Windows 10 Game Ready Driver support for all GeForce RTX GPUs to October 2026, a year beyond the operating system’s end-of-life, to ensure users continue to receive the latest day-0 optimizations for new games and apps."
