Yeah if the price falls to $250 it wouldn't be a bad buy. And it's not a bad card. It's frustrating though that Nvidia could have just as easily released a AGP 7800GT with a full 20 pipes for the same price and still make a lot of money. Its like they don't want people to find out AGP is still as fast as PCI-E. (I know the real reason is they want to strongarm people into buying their new motherboards) but treating AGP users like 2nd class consumers makes me not want to buy anything made by Nvidia. I guess same with ATI as they have done even less, but they haven't insulted me with a card like this though.

I play BF2 and currently with the 6600gt I play on all high exept textures at 10x7(limitation of old Dell 19" Monitor) can do 16x12 but words are too small....I digress...So until I get a new monitor I'm sticking at 10x7...

Question? since my 6600gt will be gone within a couple of weeks should I have bought the X850XT at Microcenter when it was at 200.00? |Regrets| So that deal is gone what do I buy in a couple of weeks? Might as well of stayed with my 6600gt..:disgust: So it's 6800GS, 7800GS for much more or maybe be lucky and have another x850xt deal What will I do?

So this is where all the G70 cores with 2 failed quads are going. :laugh:

I was at a review somewhere ( I closed out the tab and can't find it again ) and they edited the BIOS so RivaTuner would detect it as a 7800GS. They went into the low level settings screen and tried to activate the disabled pipes / shaders -- and were unsuccessful.

Someone would have to remove the HSF and look for laser-cut traces to see if a hardmod would be possible. It is more common for quads to be disabled on the die as well as the PCB, so I wouldn't expect pipe unlocking.

I have a 6800GT and would consider ONE MORE AGP part if I could get 25% minimum performance increase for under $300.

Is a stock 7800GS 50% more power than a 6600gt? For that matter is a 6800gs a 50% power leap?

I was excited when I heard it was coming out. Now I think I'll stick with what I have and put my upgrade $$ into an X2.

Well, i bought a 6600GT when they were $100 to buy some time. I sure hope they come out with something better then this. I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

AGP & Dell 30" gaming do not mix. Don't even try it.

Move to PCI-E instead, and buy two X1900XT's

what a bloody install. I cut myself when i was inserting the damn card. Well no blood touched card. However it keeps crashing after a couple of minutes.

Don't these cards need the beta driver?
