I see both sides of this, but come on, to say a Tea Partier would not find being called a teabagger offensive is funny.

If that is not offensive to a tea bagger, then calling a gay man a beautiful being must be even less offensive, as it is more applicable in the given context even? :colbert:

Not even close to the same thing. "beautiful being" has no other meaning. Unless you are referring to the cocksuck party? Then those people would be cocksuckers? Weak! Your posturing is kinda pathetic as I heard teabagger on every news source. Hell I think the daily show did a montage clip of every new channel saying teabagger.

It's a stupid reason to be mad and nobody gives a fuck, we can all see clearly through it.

Now look at "Tea Partier". Oh is that the proper label? Fucking stupid still. Fucking tea partier. Are we in 3rd grade?

It looks like Schiller (Ron)also got the boot from the Aspen Institute. So NPR fired Ron Schiller, NPR fired Vivian Schiller (no relation) ... or at least a one day "resignation" and now the Aspen Institute refuses to hire Ron, it looks as though NPR thinks this was a major screw up. Maybe NPR was taken over by Right Wing Nutters while I wasn't looking.

I feel sorry for these people. Their lives are being trashed to preserve a ridiculous fiction in which a third of the country delights and a third of the country doesn't believe for a second. (With of course a third of the country asking for clarification if the Schillers are on American Idol or Survivor.) Even the most facetious NPR defender knew Schiller's view of Republicans and Tea Partiers, and most could guess his view on Jews - especially if there are Muslims dangling a $5 million check.

I knew that would blow your mind. I guess you didn't get it as I left off the "not that there is anything wrong with it" bit, my bad. :sneaky:

It's OPINION section.

That's the Fox News Excuse, it's just opinion so anything goes. Total bullshit.

I think we all know if it was "How to speak Muslim" it wouldn't be on the NPR website in any section.

LOL Wait, let me say "stupid Republicans" and make fun of the Tea Parties a few more times, then I'll put on my unbiased reporter hat.

Which is doubly funny because liberals actually refer to these imaginary hats as if they change their personae by pretending to don them. Get your magic hats!

Fox news peddles opinion as news. This is clearly labeled as OPINION. You don't have to like it.

NPR really 'stepped in it' again, big time.

Their managerial (mis)handling and PR moves at damage control are once again terribly inept.

Their immediate firings of people in the face of such events (JW, Vivian Schiller) reek more of knee-jerk panic and hyper-sensitivity than any kind of competency.

Who is running the asylum over there?

If they are that inept at the top why should their (product) reporting be trusted?

On the other hand, if NPR bashers resort to these sorts of underhanded tactics, why should they be trusted?

It's irrelevant whether I like it. Actually I do like it, and it's funny because it's true. But that doesn't mean it belongs on NPR.

The Republican party has been hijacked by the Tea Party? Wat?

1. He must not know many Republicans.
2. The teabaggers only get attention because stupid people make for good news. Sure their candidates won a few elections. Very few, and they lost the major ones (O'Donnel and Angle). They're an extreme fringe minority with extreme fringe minority representation. Meaning they have little real say in government affairs and a huge say in media air-time.
3. He sees them as a real threat, as opposed to the wannabe threat they really are. Fail.
