So you are seriously suggesting one op-ed, a seemingly humorous look at a phrase being widely used by the public, somehow constitutes the MSM using the phrase? Really? That's so transparently beyond lame I can only pity you. Try harder.

"Interested in learning more about the origins of the 'tea bag' movement? Jay Nordlinger of The National Review breaks down where the term came from, what it means, and why it's been embraced — and rejected — by conservatives and liberals alike."
You asked for an example and I gave it. I never said it was widely used by MSM...but the term has been used on several occasions by MSM. If you need more examples I suggest that perhaps you make an effort to "try harder".

As far as your pity goes...you can stick it up your ass.

Sorry, I don't stupidly hang tea bags off of my hat and refer to myself as tea baggers before being what "tea bagging" meant in sexual terms.
No...you just stupidly make fun of them for not knowing the perversity of the term. Some might think that would be a good thing...and then there's others...those like you who find some kind of twisted humor in it.

You're the one who said you "suspect bias when I hear someone use the term 'teabaggers'," insinuating this is somehow relevant to the conversation about media bias, yet you weasel out when challenged to support your insinuation. Typical nutter dishonesty.

I didn't "weasel out" of anything...I gave you a clear example of bias at NPR. And then you have the audacity to talk about "typical nutter dishonesty". Wow....just wow.

Was the bias in their reporting?

No.

The bias was from a guy whos in charge of the money side of things and he was bitching about the republicans, probably because you know they are trying to remove funding.

It was hosted on NPR's site despite a hell of a lot of objections...and then they said they didn't know "teabaggers" was a derogatory term which is total bullshit...and then regardless of that...continued to host it. Typical nutter dishonesty.

Man you have some thin skin if you are offended by that. My guess is you want to make a mountain out of a molehill to posture for political reasons.

Fucking mama's boy. Grow some ball bag, son.

James O'Keefe is going to cross the line once too oftenand get really nailed with his games.
Hopefully it will revoke any parole agreement he may have been given, and he will get the
hard-time in prison that his felonious actions deserves, he is a fraud.

Obama should force GOP to either fully fund NPR or shut down the government and face the consequences.

I see both sides of this, but come on, to say a Tea Partier would not find being called a teabagger offensive is funny.

If that is not offensive to a tea bagger, then calling a gay man a beautiful being must be even less offensive, as it is more applicable in the given context even? :colbert:

Whats really fucking stupid is that npr in the event of a massive emergency is in place to get information to the populace. If they do this not only will all those smaller stations just shut down but the power block "liberal" stations (krcw, kppc) will grow to epic sizes with repeaters all over the country.

This is a dumb place to save money.

Why would you need emergency information, when you can get viagra ads, credit repair scams, and a daily dose of rage on am radio instead?
Obama should call GOP's bluff. Defund NPR = budget Veto = Shut down the government.

I think you are leaving out a few steps between defunding NPG, and shutting down the goverment, that is quite a leap. Oh and I think you left out the last step: Profit.

Very simple, no NPR funding in budget = veto of the whole budget = government shut down. GOP should think long and hard before they start this fight.

Yes, let's forget the Emergency Broadcast System that all radio and TV stations (including cable) must comply. NPR would not be a loss to anyone other than liberals and progressives.

I can only assume you dont listen to npr at all. As your opinion seems uneducated, son.

I've listened to NPR on occasion and heard nothing that really sparked my interest. It had a left leaning twist to the reporting. I stand by my statement that it would be no loss to anyone other than liberals and progressives, boy.

LOL But you're forgetting the Emergency Liberal Talking Points System. Many communities rely on NPR for ELTPS service in times of trouble, when those evil Zionist Jews will surely strike.

It will be a loss to GOP if they over-reach resulting in a government shutdown. Just ask Gingrich.

not the same this time.

Also, if the federal govt shut down, who would really be impacted. 99% of people would have no change in their day to day lives.

You know things like military, border patrol, social security, medicare, etc... will not be affected. Just shlt like national parks, tours at the capitol etc..

Man, you sound all butt hurt.

Did you celebrate when that liberal blogger prank called Governor Walker pretending to be one of the Koch brothers? Are these tactics only justified when "your side" does it?

It looks like Schiller (Ron)also got the boot from the Aspen Institute. So NPR fired Ron Schiller, NPR fired Vivian Schiller (no relation) ... or at least a one day "resignation" and now the Aspen Institute refuses to hire Ron, it looks as though NPR thinks this was a major screw up. Maybe NPR was taken over by Right Wing Nutters while I wasn't looking.

OK, then GOP should go ahead, make Obama's day. Government shutdown = all non-essential services go down, media is going to be asking GOP every day when they are going to send Obama a bill he can sign.

Learn To Speak Tea Bag
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=120344047

"The cartoon is a perfect caricature of what NPR looks like to conservatives: liberals snidely imagining conservatives to be monosyllabic clods who can't make an argument beyond name-calling," said Tim Graham, director of media analysis for the conservative Media Research Center. "Conservatism is 'satirized' into a form of political retardation."

Don't get me wrong...despite this I personally like NPR. But they will occasionally slant a story or use a loaded term that I consider to be clear bias.

That is painful to watch. It's funny because it's true, but it has no place on NPR or any serious news source that is supposed to be unbiased.
