Even so at the delta required to overcome losses to the surroundings the board would be well below the frost point. People would be quite itchy in a -90C dewpoint environment!

Now if the glasses were Dewars the contents would stay cold much longer.

We did this in university, but did it with checkers and with half shots of vodka. If a piece was jumped you had to take the shot before taking it off the board. If you got a King, the other guy had to take a full shot. If your King was jumped, you had to take a full shot before taking it off the board.

If the game becomes slightly lopsided, it becomes VERY lopsided VERY quickly. The loser ends up drinking like 10-12 ounces of vodka pretty quickly.
