Thats great, when can I expect you? My chicken coop needs to be cleaned out.
I'd rather be kicked in the balls than go to Texas ;^)

Its not a matter of "extracting pennies", there are plenty of people who make good money from youtube. To a lot of people its like a second job.
Sounds like something that doesn't concern me.

Would you make excuses to cut your neighbors paycheck? John does not need that extra money to pay his house note, so lets just cut his pay.

Not sure what you're saying here. It isn't relevant.

People make extra money by making informative and interesting video for youtube.

Do you have some kind of objection to people making money?

Or is it ok that you make money, but nobody else can?

I never like Youtube's player. It's just so damn finicky. Sometimes 720p loads right, other times it goes at a crawl and you need to select 480p. Sometimes that doesn't even work well.

Not to mention, if you make a video fullscreen, it stops the video, reselects a higher quality, and redownloads. That wouldn't be such a big deal if YT wasn't so damn slow sometimes.

No, it isn't ok for people to make money against my terms. If they don't like it, they can stop making videos, or use a different service for hosting. They can also petition Google for a less obtrusive ad service. I turn ads on for sites that have unobtrusive ads. AT and YouTube don't make the cut.

Btw, tracking is never acceptable. I don't give a shit what your ad looks like if it tries to track my movements. They will ALWAYS be blocked.

If you are worried about privacy, maybe you need to get off the net.

No, I just learn to control the technology I use, and make educated decisions about how much, when, and where to reveal information. It's actually empowering, and more satisfying than poking buttons like a monkey. You should try it some time :^)

I have no problems with people putting ads on their videos. They can't control what software I use on my computer though. If they want to put ads on their videos, that's none of my business. And if I choose to use adblock, that's none of their business.

Regarding other issues, YouTube does indeed suck. HD is unusable - I can get HD Netflix, HD Vimeo, HD Dailymotion, and so on, but YouTube's HD just doesn't work because their servers are so slow. Their copyright policy is the worst of all video sharing sites. The interface sucks and there are a lot of videos that are "not available on mobile."

Sure it is their business, because you are wanting those people to work for free.

Would you work a second or third job for free?

By using ad blocker you are denying those people the ability to improve their life.

~ EDIT ~

Do you ever eat at a restaurant? Do you tip the server? That is the way youtube ads work.

Is it stealing to change the channel, skip ahead (with a DVR), or turn off the TV during ads? No. Neither is adblock.

I don't have cable or satellite, I get my TV from good ol' bunny ears. So for me, TV is a free service.

Well technically, the person who uploaded the video is DIRECTLY paid (a very small amount) when I see a YouTube ad, whereas my watching or not watching ads has absolutely no impact on how much the networks are paid. I don't have a Nielsen box or any other box that can track my viewing habits.

Since you are willing to work a part time job for free, my chicken coop needs to be cleaned out, when can I expect you?

I listened to the radio today and heard some songs, but I didn't pay a cent! Should I turn myself in to the police?

Stupid because youtube opens up the possibility to make extra money?

I bet you are the type of person that makes excuses for people to make less money.

I used to tell the rubes on AT to not block ADs but they dont care. I make about $10-$20 month on YT Ads. Not much, but its nice to have subs, views and a couple of bucks on the side.

I would make about triple that if those cheapskates watched my ads. :'(

I'm happy to spread culture to the masses; no payment needed. My channel's pretty meager. I meant to upload more stuff, but never got around to it. I should probably get on that.
