They are always county and municipal agencies as well you can complain to. File with as many offices as possible.

You can also file a complaint via the Attorney General's office of Consumer Protection.

This. These folks take your story seriously. Also, the local TV stations probably have some kind of "call us with your problem" people, this would make a great TV warning story.

FWIW, I know someone who works to resolve debit card disputes, and she said that there was no difference between the protections of a debit card versus a credit card.

Only problem with that is he might not want to become semi-famous for being the guy who got ripped off at a strip club and complained about it on TV :)

I would never ever ever give a strip club my credit card. Cash only!! And even then they are still going to try to rip you off.

No offense, but your friend is completely wrong with such a blanket statement.

The legal protections set in place are much different on debit vs. credit.

Mastercard and Visa offer extremely similar protections on their debit cards, but that is something they choose to do, not something they must do.

One example is that your legal liability with your credit card is $50, period. With a debit card, it is $50 within the first two days, then shoots up to $500 if you report it before the 60th day.

This is because debit cards fall under the Electronic Funds Transfer Act.

LOL @ OP and others that pay with tab in strip clubs. At least you didn't get the cash at the ATM machine inside the strip club. Did you hear the story about a guy with an American Express card that was charged over 100K from a strip club?

You stayed until 2 a.m. (closing time) and out of less than $100 and you complaining? LOL

Pay with cash only when the waitress delivered the beers/drinks FTW. No cash, no strip club, no further problem.

BTW, OP, you should go to Treasure or Rick's, higher class club(s).
