They gave you a new date?? They just told me it was canceled. What a great compnay.

I spoke to them on Friday, my new ship date is 08/29.




if you have the time read back to the beginning of this thread, a month or so back, and you'll see people getting cancellations all the time. I think it's very admirable of you to still be waiting and on this and all, but since it's not gonna be coming any time soon, I don't understand what is there really to talk about. If you wanna wait, just wait until it actually comes (which might be by the end of the year hopefully).
 
Wouldn't that be funny, in the sickest way possible, if our cards had yet to ship when they paper launch the 512MB cards this fall. When you buy flagships, you usually get a few months before it's flagship status is rendered obsolete. This would be a first, where it's obsolete before it ships. 🙂

No, it will not be obsolete, it will just not be the top of the line card any more, but you will still be buying a very powerfull card which even if it's not the absolute best, it's right up there close to the top. But if they again paper launch the next top of the line card, then the x800xt will effectively be the de-facto top of the line.
 
LOL. So I bothered to navigate throught GW's phone system to the automated order status check in case of some freakish chance it said my card had been shipped and the website was wrong. Anyway, I cracked up when I heard this

LETS all NOT post UNLESS.... One of us actually sees the card on the door step!!! 🙂 Take a Picture of it with the gateway box... (yeah, like that is gonna happen!) But really, this is basically a waste of bandwidth untill the cards start showing up...

And yes I know... Cards won't be showing up... So... Just let the thread die!

Hey, anybody else get an order confirmation email?

I don't know if they are just trying to charge me once again, or if they are actually going to send the cards finally, but I'm gonna look into it. I'll definitely report back with my findings.

Lets hope that maybe by some miracle they finally got theirs to ship out.
 
My guess is that we will eventually get them.

Proposed draft of apology from Gateway to anxious/astounded/pissed card purchasers:

We apologize for underestimating the amount of time it would take for us to fill your order. Demand for these cards has far outstripped supply, and our supplier was unable to deliver the quantities promised on schedule. We also apologize for the confusion added by the recurrent misstatements from our sales department. To show our appreciation for your patience, we would like to offer you the opportunity to purchase the upcoming release of Half Life 2 at a reduced price of $25.

Or something like that.
 
Here's the deal.

I ordered months ago and never called Gateway because I was afraid if I called them they would cancel my order as they did to some people.

So I kept my mouth shut, and here's what happened today.

I checked my credit card statement online, and a pending charge for the cards I ordered just showed up again. The pending charge was there when I originally placed my order, then vanished for a month or two, and just showed up again TODAY.

So I'm thinking they are about to try to charge now? Which means it may be because they are about to ship? Not sure, just thinking that might be what's happening.
 
I got one shortly after I ordered as well. I did not get one when they pre-authorized and charged me before, so I'm thinking maybe this has some significance.
 
There's a thread over on TeamRadeon Forums stating that someone got tracking today for his built by ATI xt pe from BB...


Dare I hope? Nah

Until I see a pic of a box in hand, or get tracking from GW, nothing has really changed
 
Hmm... ok what the hell!

I check again and now my order is showing up like it's canceled. No to arrival date, order is no longer pending, no eta on ship date, just a "Please Contact Us For Status" message. It really seems they have canceled my order without my word. How nice of them to place an authorization on my card first :roll:

I really do hope the order status is just updating or something.

Me? Cancel my order? There has been a reason I've been waiting in total over two months for this card. I shot them an email back saying that I've never attempted to cancel this order. I don't even care about the authorization, I have the funds for it. I want my friggin card. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get an automated response saying "Haha fsck you, bye. And uh, we'd hate to lose you as a customer!"

They have the XT/PE in stock. Are mailing them out as we speak to different customers. I got my shipping status to overnight once they do ship, which I guess is a plus but I still wish I could play Q3 in higher res thatn 640x480.
 
I'm curious, where did you get this info? From their reps? Not to flame you, but we have been told stuff like this before that has turned out not to be true. Anyone gotten a tracking number yet?
 
No hey, I agree with all of you. I myself am very skeptical and as you can see from my posts before, I've been burned as well 😉 And I've talked to two reps from "customer service." I use that loosely as I am a customer and have gotten zero service.
If anything I got overnight delivery for free. heh Hardly worth the wait :|
