Man, yer not kidding

Glad I didn't worry bout those D3 benchies and jump to nvidia. Figure I'm bout half way through. It's OK, but my hopes were high enough, that D3 is a big letdown. It does remain a great showcase for the power of the engine, but pretty mundane gameplay. HL2 and Stalker now hopefully prove more entertaining

Though i'd rather be playing on my X800 all the same 🙂

Personally i'm up for a little mundane gameplay. It's relaxing. I'm sick of all the stealth/complicated crap. Its the same thing over and over ever since the first thief. Just as mundane to me. We will see about half life. I think you are all full of BS about how sweet it will be. No one knows until its here.

I just wish they had added a little to the actual gameplay since the original D00m. I also am not fond of playing the entire game at the end of a flashlight. Makes it really hard to enjoy any eye candy that might be in there. My2c..

Don't take this as a personal attack. Geez, some thin skinned folks around here. Yours is the only one who I have heard of getting a cancil call. the rest of us have just been told it will be delayed.

I spoke to them on Friday, my new ship date is 08/29.

Wow, these delays have ppl on edge. Since you decided to label me as "full of BS" Please allow me to retort. I said "hopefully" it will be good. It may or may not. D3 was to be the greatest FPS, and maybe had it been released a year ago, before farcry and such, it would have seemed better. To tell the truth, that letdown kinda concerns me bout HL2. D3 wasn't able to to do the Scary shooter very well, and ID has been king. So here's a whole buncha "Here's Hoping" directed at Valve

Oh, and GW is still telling me 8/13
 
Man, I don't know about you guys, but the Anand D3 benches are almost a little embarassing. Granted, it's difficult to know how much high framerates are really going to differ during gameplay (i.e. any high-end card is going to rock for D3) but at the same time my buddies are all having fun with D3 and their 9800GTs. Me, I am upgrading from an original Radeon series card (embarassing also) and don't even want to buy it until I get this card. Sounds like my new 8/18 ship date won't happen either....*sigh*
 
My ship date is 8/16

On another note, they put an authorization on my card again. Why are they putting an authorization on the card when their estimated shipping date two weeks later?\

Edit: I meant 8/16, not 6/16!
 
yeah I faced the same thing, after that when the item is postponed further. They credit the fund back. Absolutely a waste of time and man power.
 
Odd that they do the auth thing before they ship. I saw that on mine too. Wonder why?

Could they be thinning the numbers by checking for auth, and if ppl dont' have the balance they cancel, regardless of ship date. I know that's far out, but so is seemingly random auth checks.
 
No...what they're really doing is that they need to secure some extra funding beforehand in order to pay off the Yakuza clans they've hired to help them, "acquire," their first shipment of X800XT PEs over other retailers.

This is perfectly in-line with all their other business practices so far. It's not like the Yakuza do anything worse than Gateway does! :roll:
 
Well, again I called Gateway. They confirmed my XT/PE has shipped. Strangely enough they had no tracking number or shipping date. But they confirmed it had been shipped. hmm These guys seem to have no integrity. If this shipment does not materialize, they are through.

Not trying to flame you or anything but I have to take that with a grain of salt. The same way that they were printing packing labels over a week ago 😛
 
Ok another thing to note. This one is a big change:

"Your Gateway order will arrive on 8/16/04"

As opposed to saying my order shipped on/estimated date to ship.
 
Ok, this is the new story. I called and asked why others has been given a new ship date and I was told mine was just canceled. They said the original orders were all canceled and reissued with the new arrival dates, they forgot to mention this to me. :rolls;
