He/she more than likely got his/her card from the CompUSA SuperStore & online distro. center in TX (I believe it would be either Houston or Dallas, not Austin). That one store is offering up 160 pieces for sale immediately.

So........ What does everyone think????

What kind of excuse will Gateway dream up in the next 5 days???

I'm kinda wondering How far the date will get pushed back too? Maybe Mid July?

I highly doubt it will be pushed back until mid july, unless he is referring to those who recently ordered and will not be getting in on Gateway's first shipment.

Either way, I've been on order for 16 days now, I'll give Gateway until the end of next week, then Ill just order from somewhere else.

FWIW I ordered on the 3rd - before they pulled the deal off their website.

Has anyone received their card yet?

Well I cancelled my Gateway order and got one from a CompUSA in Texas from Steve Sharp, had it overnighted and got it last Wednesday. It was 60 bucks more but well worth it IMO. The XT PE is an amazing piece of hardware and you all are in for quite a treat when you get yours.

Gateway can enjoy a nice suck on my left nad.

$60? You mean $150 right, unless you got it for $450. But ordering through steve sharp (who has probably lost his job for selling pre-order's cards now) you had to pay 499 + TX tax + shipping. I'll keep my gateway order for ~400 shipped.

Whoa! Is that confirmed that he SOLD the 1'st batch of cards that were suppose to go to people that have been waiting for a month???

SAD!!! If that is really ture then I'd never ever pre-order anything from CrapUSA. I'd be pissed if I had 500 bucks waiting on the line expecting my card and it's being sold to any Joe that walks in off the street @ the texas HQ...

Yes. I usually only buy Built By. Don't know why really, just like 'em.

My Gateway order was close to 460, I still don't understand why you keep saying the Gateway order was under 400.00

And my fuzzy math was off abit. 460.00 shipped overnight for the Gateway order my CompUSA order was 535.00 shipped overnight, as he gave me a credit on my overnight since he did everyone elses that got screwed up. Since I had talked to him a few times he had no problem doing it.

Difference 76.00, not 60. Sorry. But ya know what? I have the card NOW, had it in time for my LAN and am loving every second I am no longer waiting on Gateway to get their head out of their asses. I am not a member of AAA so I don't get the same discount as you.

And Steve Sharp has not and will not loose his job, I spoke to him on Friday all about it.

The system let him sell the cards, it was not something done on purpose. As far as I know it is not confirmed. But you will all probably lynch him so go ahead, I'm done sticking up for a guy I don't even know.

I cancelled my CompUSA order and ordered the Gigabyte retail X800 XT PE from BuyXtremeGear.com for $545 shipped. Even though they say expected ship date is June 27th, CompUSA has been pre-ordering a long time and I think it's very possible it could have been well into July before I actually received my video card. ( I ordered on June 7th )

My order is scheduled to ship Monday the 21st.

If there are anymore questions about whether the Card is an X800 XT PE

I checked with one of the sales represenatives at Gateway online chat his name was Vin. He did say that the card was a X800 XT Platinum Edition, and he gave me the product # of 100-435210 which matches the product # on the ATI website for the X800 XT PEs.

Also the X800 XT PEs will be shipping from ATI this month according to the website.

And last but not least the Card is back on the Gateway website for the 434.?? asking price. I was told if I purchased it, it would be shipping on July 9th, I don't know whether to believe that or not.

Still on Order at Gateway from original deal.

Arival date is supposed to be 6/24.

As long as this doesn't get pushed past July 3rd (next LAN party) the I'll keep my order there.

A Gateway CSR called me last week and asked if I still wanted to wait on my order. She said the shipment was expected on July 16th. I was considering cancelling and just waiting on all of the cards being available to the public but I remembered how the Gateway CSR's don't actually know what's going on with stock so I let my order ride. I guess we're all still playing that waiting game.

Best Buy had (empty) X800Pro/XT boxes on the shelf but none with actual cards in them. They had them listed for $399 and the X800XT for $499. I didn't see any prices or boxes for the 6800 series.

Edit: This was the Clearwater, FL Best Buy on Drew St.

I say F@$% GW!

Well, I am going to buy one from best buy since they will have them in stock soon.

Looks like they have the x800PRO in stock. And it says to check back soon for the XT.

I really think GATEWAY is going to SCREW us again by pushing our orders back till even next month. (tho, I hope not) I give them till Friday to tell me my order has shipped or I am cancelling my order.

The card is priced at MSRP at Best Buy. No thanks. I prefer some creativity in pricing.

This might create alot of cancelled GW orders ... well, alot more

For those that are holding out on the 6/24/04 date, no such luck. I talked to a CSR from GW over the internet chat. She gave me the standard, run of the mill phone number to call, at which point, I became a little irration. I went off and being led in circles, holding back information, shoddy business practices, the whole nine yards. Then!

She spit out this number 1-800-846-2036 x#####. Now I know you guys are just thinking "that is the direct line to talk to the same dimwitted CSRs" - which is exactly what I thought too. She then cut me off! While I was still talking, she said "Thank you for visiting Gateway.com" "Goodbye". I quickly asked her to email me a transcript, to which she agreed and hastily disconnected me. (2 hours later, no email)

So I call the number, and punch in the extension. Oh wow! It wasn't a CSR, it was a Sales Associate that started asking me tons of questions. Namely, who gave you this number, how did you get this number, who am I speaking with... He then apologized and told me that he only dealt with vendors, suppliers, clients! NOT customers!

I was on the phone with this guy, 'Bob' to make things easier, for almost 30 minutes. He not only explained to me that the 6/24/04 date was basically off the mark, but that they are required by law to give a date, no matter if they know what the date is! He tried to explain it to me, but that is the gist.

Bob told me that GW doesn't keep this item in stock, since Gateway is primarily, a custom computer vendor. That said, all this delaying rests on ATIs back. I was put on hold and he called ... drumroll ... the ATI distribution center and warehouse! After 5 minutes, he came back and told me that ATI is out of stock. What the hell? Seems like Sapphire, the maker of the card, can't even keep ATI in-stock. I asked a few more questions, got upgraded to overnight shipping for free, and was told "off-the-record" that the date is, in fact, closer to July 10-20.

All said, the only thing Gateway did wrong was lie lie lie lie ... ATI is out of stock. They still have 6/24/04 as my expected arrival date. A man I shouldn't have even been about to reach and talk to was the only one capable enough to help me. He did everything in his power, even contacting his supervisor.

To sum this up, you won't get your cards until mid-July. I doubt anyone will get the cards until mid-July.

Thank you.

(Just to clarifiy, I am keeping my order at Gateway. $434.95 with free shipping (started with free standard shipping, ended with free over night) is damn hard to beat. Gateway may stink, but hey, I saved $110) (I get $110 from $500 + tax if I bought it at Best Buy)

Argh! I leave on the morning of 6/23 for a vacation and I dunno my fate!

Personally I want to keep my order, but I dunno how long I'm going to have to wait for it. I guess sometimes saving money beats the premium.

Thats a load of crap. This is the second time in one month. Perfect date too... I won't even be in the country from July 13-23. This is not even worth the hassle, if Nvidia pulls through at the end of the month, I'm going to buy a 6800U.
