They don't even have the frigging cards! Calling the phone status number just tells me that something is wrong and I'll have to talk to a customer service representative, and online my order has, though a freak wormhole in the space-time continuum, already been shipped _tommorrow_.

Not to mention that everyone seems to be getting a different, sometimes conflicting, answer to `what the hell is going on?' It's like something out of the twilight zone.

I've been monitoring my status daily. It changed from: "Your Gateway order shipped on 6/10/04"

To this as of this morning: "Your Gateway order shipped on 6/16/04"

Keep in mind that the sales person I ordered through stated an ETA of 6/16 for the cards when I called about my order several days ago. I'm interested to see what others have for a status as their orders pass the original (future) ship dates.

I was able to get my CDW rep to drop the price to $430.51 for the X800 XT PE BBA. It still shows as 2+ weeks, but on Monday he called me and told me they were expected around the 15th. At that point in time, they had 380 orders. So, it might take some time, but for that price, I sure don't care. My 9700 Pro still works fine.

Well, I don't mind since no one else is shipping cards out. But, really... Do you think they are going to ship it by the 23??? It's pretty funny to see the dates changing. Oh well, GW has no clue when they are going to get this card. I was going to cancel this order but it's almost entertaining to keep seeing the status change almost daily. At least it dosent say "unavail"

I guess it's taking 23 days to fill that order!

I just got $$ for my 9700 Pro. Time to take a break anyway. But I finished Far Cry with almost all the features turned off. It will be interesting to see how much eye candy I can turn on with this card. I need to buy a new P/S anyway. I don't think my Stock Dell PS will handle this card in my PowerEdge 400SC...

I have been looking to find some concrete information on when the BBA cards are actually going to ship from ATI, and have not found anything. It seems strange that so many retailers are not even listing the cards for pre-order (and some that were have since removed them). I'm wondering if they are delayed?

I did find this information this morning, which claims that they are shipping late July. Don't know how they know...

Anyone in the know about BBA cards? I see in other threads that some have actually received their PBA cards. I'm just curious about BBA.

I wouldn't follow what that article said. It says the X600XT and X600 Pro are out now, which they most certainly aren't. They could be speaking for a different country though. Also, I think that perhaps the X800XT they were talking about is maybe the PCI Express version (I think its actually supposed to be called the X880XT though, so could be wrong). Also, why is there still mention of an X800XT non PE? I thought ATi said they are not making a non PE version? Its not clocked differently enough to warrant a $50 difference based on that article. I think I remember hearing/seeing something about an X800 Pro XT that is about the same as a 6800 GT.

I don't know anymore. I don't know if even ATi knows what they are actually making. Wouldn't doubt the reason for the scarce X800XTs is because they couldn't make up their minds about which clock speed to set it at.

At CDW I just talked to a csr who said they are recieving thier shipment of x800xt pe's on the 15th or 16th of june. She also told me that they will have alot of stock, they said they have more cards comming in then people ordered! Said my card should be at my house by the 20-21st which is awsome!


for those waiting for gateway to get thier heads out of thier asses!

If you call this number jennifer will help you she said they have 521 cards comming on the 15 or 16th and 471 of them are ordered so if you have and doubts about gateway call here 1800-622-6222 ext 30677 this is her direct line and she is honest!


I am not thead crapping the gateway deal, I cancelled my gteway order after dealing with thier 1/2 ass csr's my order total 2 nd day was $474.00 which was the same price after tax and shipping from gateway call now she is waiting I told her I would post this and get all of them sold today! LOL She said bring it on!

I stopped calling the Gateway CSR's after the sales rep I spoke to told me the CSR's didn't have all the info on the situation. He assured me my (and everyone else who got in before the deal got yanked) order was fine and would ship when they arrived (first shipment estimated 6/16). I posted that info somewhere back in this thread and also posted it in the Gateway X800XT deal in the Video forum. If this is the case we should start seeing some cards in less than 2 weeks.

I ordered my X800 XT PE on June 3rd, and have always had my order "pending". But now, even my userID is not available.

I hope someone can confirm.

p.s. I didn't respond to the email a CSR sent me on June 8th asking me whether I wanted to cancel my order since the card was backordered. Maybe that's why they took me off the list?

OK, so I just checked the order status link because my ship date was supposed to be June 11. Now it's been changed to July 7.

You guys need to chill out. Those dates mean nothing and you will get the card as soon as it's released, the first orders should start to be filled next week. Be patient.

In all honesty you are probably better off not even looking at it, because as I was told by the web order team ( the dept that actually knows what is going on, unlike the numerous idiot CSR's) the order status online for this card is pretty much useless. She said they are coming, and when they ship we will be notified, she also told me to take the order status online with a grain of salt. Because it just leaves a window for them to work with, so even though it says July, it most likely will be much sooner than that. However since the card is in such high demand, they are just giving longer than usual arrival dates just to cover their own asses.

I stand by what I said earlier in this thread, I really do believe that Gateway will make the first customers who ordered this card very happy and no later than any other website.

They came through for me when I ordered my GeForce 3 from them and that was a similar debacle. However I totally understand the annoyance factor you all are having, as I have only recently calmed myself down from all of this.

Gateway is guilty of one thing, PISS poor communication with it's departments, other than that I really don't think they have done anything that the other sites have done. They posted an item that wasn't in stock yet and called it a pre order.

Personally I think you will regret that decision when most of us get our cards from them for a very low price. Time will tell.

Well I've got mine on order with CDW for $481 (that's with 2-day, Fedex). When I ordered, they had about 290 backorders in front of me and they have an allotment for nearly 500, or some such large figure. I've got my own sales clerk there for dealing directly with, which makes the experience much smoother, and he gives me straight answers.

Some things alone are worth it; like not being charged when it hasn't shipped, not being told it's in stock when it never ever was in stock in the first place, and getting a consistent, straight answer.

I know their rating is crap as well, but it's still more than double the rating of Gateway, and I've dealt with CDW in the past and have had good experiences, personally. Still better than getting ripped off by a normally decent priced e-tailer (i.e. NewEgg; $470 for a Pro?!?).
