i called to also cancel . . .

expect up to 10 days to get the 'hold' taken off your CC. 😛

Gateway . . . never again. 😉

I was on this deal when Robor first posted on the Video Forum. They've cancelled mine.

I'm pre ordering from CompUSSR.

After I placed the order at Gateway, I was purchasing parts for a new system upgrade build w/c included:

Intel P4 3.4GHz
2GB KingstonHX PC-3200
Intel 875PBZ

I'll be picking these parts up today at Mwave.com.

I hope (Gateway) gets taken out to pasture.

Well I just called to cancel and she said that my order had been updated, and NOT cancelled. She told me that because it was a web order they were told not to cancel it and there is a new ETA date of 6/16.

I asked if that was the ship date or what and she told me that I should have the card on the 16th. I'm going to sit back and see what happens with this order, but if I see it someone before then I'm going to cancel then.

Just spoke to a CSR and she said that they don't carry this part anymore and all orders, that they cant fulfill, will be cancelled. I checked my CC and the Gateway charge is now gone. Now, that just ruined my good mood from getting a $14.99 HD. 🙁

Just checked my order and it went from arrive 6/10 to ship on 6/10.

Hmmm. I'm going to wait this one out and see what happens.

If the deal goes dead then I'm going to wait till a PCI Express X800XT comes out along with socket 939.

No real loss either way.

I'm with you. So much of me wants this card, but I know I should really sit on my 9800XT for a bit longer. Anyway, after talking to that last CSR I really think there are a few of us that ordered early that will get the cards. She told me that they were told not to cancel the orders that could be filled, so let's just keep those fingers crossed.

Please; Mooboxes never had my respect, and they just completely ruined this opportunity to earn it. I just posted a lovely review of them at ResellerRatings to thank them for a job poorly done.

Screw them forever; I'll never deal with them again and I will never recommend them to any of my clients, either. I HOPE THEY BURN!!!

Nobody screws ME over without repercussion...

Forgive me if you have mentioned it already, but when exactly did you place your order?

I ordered mine on 6/2 at around.....11ish maybe?

But it was 6/2 and I am going to go with what I was told today that there was no way the order was being cancelled. I explained to her that many people were having their orders cancelled and she was aware of that. Those who ordered in time I believe will still get a card on the 9th or the 16th as she told me.

Who knows. As of now my account has not been charged and she said it wouldn't until the card ships and my order stands as pending.

Another interesting tidbit. Gateway's link to their customer support that they included in their email doesn't work. I copied the link and pasted it into Firefox and it said the connection was refused, not that it couldn't find it.

I sure hope that I either get the card or Gateway compensates for this bullcrap. I'm not as PO'ed about this as other people, but still. Gateway is handling this very poorly it seems. Class action lawsuit anybody? (I dearly hope it doesn't come to this)

This whole thing is FUBAR. It's been several days since "whatever" happened and still no response from Gateway on the website or via Email updates. People that call the CSR's get different stories and those that don't call are expecting their card to arrive on those "future" shipped dates.

All I can say is the lack of response is crap. It shows me they are still trying to sort out (cover up) their mistake or they don't care. I'm guessing there's a "how do we best cover our arses" meeting, coming on Monday of course...

I don't feel bad . . . after all, they only held up my CC funds for a couple of days - after 10 minutes with a Gateway CSR (who had to "fill out a form") my funds were release this morning. 🙂

phew.

PERSONALLY, i wouldn't take ANY chance that you will EVER get this card thru them - IF there is a card at a similar price ANYwhere else (well, not tigerD). 🙂

(i ordered pretty early; within an hour or so of its posting here)

I also thought about calling em up to cancel my order... BUT, I too orderd early on and I think some of us WILL get cards shipped.

So, I'll wait it out to at least the ship date to see what happens. I'm not upset or pissed off like some are on here. I don't really care since I am sure gateway expects to get some cards. They are no worse off then CompUSA or Bestbuy since... They are doing the same thing they are EXPECTING a certain # of cards to be shipped to them. Gateway should have said PreOrder. I doubt they had any cards in stock at the time.

So, I think Gateway, Dell, Etc...Etc... will get about 150 +/- 50 cards from ATI when the cards become available. So when they run out of stock you wait till ATI sends out another batch. Oh what fun...

Good Luck to all...

By the way... If YOU NEED a card right away. He has 21 avail... Comes out to 510.00 shipped but if you need one by the end of next week then I suppose if you have funds you can get the card. Ebay find it on your on.

There was one auction on eBay for about 20 pieces of it, but the guy yanked it for some reason; I had a bid on it, but then I got an e-mail saying that the bid was cancelled. When I went to check why, it stated the cause as, "Error in Listing."

*shrugs*

I'm guessing the dude who had the ad on Ebay was planning to get his X800XT PE from Gateway and sell it for a profit and (like everyone else) he got his order cancelled. He shouldn't have tried to sell it before he had it but he's no more guilty than Gateway for advertising a product he never had. :disgust:

Update: I called and spoke to the sales person (Ben) that I ordered my card from. I explained the situation with several message boards reporting rumors of cancellations and varied stories about what's going on. His response was my order is fine and the current status is backordered. They are waiting on the cards to arrive from ATI and his system showed the ETA as 6/16.

He also said the CSR's are getting swamped with calls requesting status updates and they are not the right people to call because they don't always have up to date info. If you ordered through a sales rep they are your first source of information on your order stats. And for what it's worth he said all of those who got in on the deal before it was yanked off the website will get their orders filled.

As I said before, I'm giving Gateway the benefit of the doubt on delivering before I rip them apart on ResellerRatings. And if they do deliver I hope those who ripped them correct their posts.

(Posted in Video forum thread as well)

Agreed. I have a gut feeling I'm going to have this card before most who ordered from other places just like I did when I ordered a GeForce 4 from Gateway a while back.

The most annoying part of all of this is the complete lack of communication involved. Not to mention the seemingly outright BS comming from gateway.

I checked my order this morning and, wonder of wonders(!), it shipped on the 10th! After calling the CS number, I was told that the order was in the process of being cancelled, since they wouldn't have any product to fulfill the order within 30 days. Huh? So why the hell haven't I gotten an e-mail saying this? At this point I don't care if it's cancelled or not, but I don't want the order sitting there in limbo.

I totally agree with you regarding the lack of communication from Gateway management and the varied stories coming from the CSR's. It's been just over 4 days since I ordered and I'm still not sure if I'm getting a card or not. Granted, I'm not in a big hurry but I'd at least like to know one way or the other so if another deal comes along I can jump on it instead.
