Because government sponsored healthcare doesn't work. And we're the best at making it not work.

That's weird because our health care system is only the second other health care system in the world not ran by a government. So if we don't have the best health care in the world and the rest of the world has government ran health care that must mean government health care does in fact work.

Crazy logic I know but consider your mind blown;)

Medicare is a half-assed attempt, because the dogfuckers you carry water for won't allow smart people to implement many of the possible single payer/hybrid systems, because they make loads of cash off letting people suffer and die.
How about VA or Indian reservation care?

The evidence indicates that the quality of care at the VA is comparable to that of regular US hospitals despite serving a far more challenging population so sure.

Since the system is publicly run it is more transparent than private hospitals so you hear more about its problems but I consider that a feature, not a bug.

If government health care doesn’t work then how do you explain this? Has this changed your mind?
How about reservation care? Also, do you consider VA care someone to be proud of and that you would feel good about and subjecting your family to?

I would have to read into that more as I don’t know anything about it. Regardless, does the evidence cited change your opinion that government run health care can’t work? Seems like it’s working just fine, no?

Why would that matter? Is your contention that our government ran health can't be good or that all government ran health care can't/isn't good?

Do you know about VA care? It's like that only much worse.

Would you feel great subjecting your family to
VA type care?

So no. It's not working.

Maybe it can be good. But ours sucks. Why would I expect Medicare for all to be any better? Do you know anyone on Medicare? I have 2 family members on it and it sucks. I have no reason to believe Medicare for all would be better.

The great thing about our health care system is that you are free to use what you want, government provided or private health care. So why are your family members using Medicare if it sucks?

Yes, I’ve experienced VA care firsthand and it’s fine.

Regardless, I just provided you with a bunch of empirical evidence that indicates VA care is just as good as any other US hospital. Shouldn’t this make you reconsider your position?

“[W]e’re going to do it simultaneously. It’ll be just fine. We’re not going to have, like, a two-day period and we’re not going to have a two-year period where there’s nothing. It will be repealed and replaced. And we’ll know. And it’ll be great health care for much less money. So it’ll be better health care, much better, for less money. Not a bad combination.” — "60 Minutes," November 13, 2016

Only will take him into the first year of his second term to get lower prices for some Americans on one drug despite lofty promises over prescription prices during the 2016 campaign and ongoing ones for the last 3 plus years.

Be grateful to the master negotiator America.

Yes, after the last four years or so you would think people would learn their lesson.

With Trump promises and plans mean nothing. Most politicians try and keep their campaign promises, Trump does not.

It's pretty standard protocol for incumbent politicians to start 'pushing' vote-winners on the lead-up to the next election.

I wouldn't be surprised if this vote-winner reaches maximum public attention right around the election then will die shortly after.

Nope. No one has. The US has the worst record of government sponsored healthcare of any country in the world.
Name one country where strictly private healthcare works.

For the record the US does not have government sponsored healthcare

BTW - Does the fact you had to caveat "not onion" tell you something?

While true, research shows that politicians usually at least try to keep their campaign promises once in office. Trump’s fell into two categories - racism and xenophobia based campaign promises and everything else. He really did try and keep the racism and xenophobia promises but the rest he basically ignored.

I find the thread title more interesting than the substance inside. It's a sad world when the president has to have trigger warnings such as "***Not Onion*** Trump does a very very good thing". It should be the other way around. "***Not Onion*** Trump does a very very bad thing".

Insulin prices have long caused serious issues with type 1 diabetics, causing unneeded bodily damage and even death due to costs. In the diabetic community there is a thing called insulin rationing, which means diabetics ration their insulin so they only take 1/4-/13 of needed amounts. As a type 1 diabetic, I applaud this.

Why only for seniors?
