Exactly. The country would be so much better if all the roads were privatized. Instead of paying a flat fee to the city to maintain the roads, you would only get a bill for the roads you drive on. Most people love socialism. Cheap roads, cheap education, free healthcare, old age pension, environmental protection agency, military, NASA, "free obama money", etc. It's only the top 1% who seem to bitch about it and demand things like medicare be scrapped. You post that as if you expect that non of them sound like positions of the Republican party. Whereas in truth about a third to half of them sound Republican, and about a third to half sound democrat, and the rest sound far out there neither party philosophically. Read it yourself. Distrust of media (damn liberal media), distrust of immigrants and wanting a crackdown on immigration, Christianity first, all income that doesn't arise from work be abolished sounds like getting rid of any form of welfare, very nationalistic, non-citizens deserve less rights. All those which are in those tenets are Republican viewpoints.

In the end it holds true that the Nazi party was far right. I'm not saying that republicans are nazis or wanna be. I'm pointing out that saying national socialism is similar to Democrats is extremely wrong because one is on the right one is on the left. Funny thing is that Democrats today aren't even very far left, they're closer to center.

When you are throwing out terms like "right" and "left," you're telling only half the story. The political spectrum is not linear. The Nazi's may have been far right socially, but they were very left fiscally. Personally, I prefer the opposite.

What exactly is Obama doing differently than Bush? He's spending more, continuing the wars, Gitmo's still open, the unemployment rate is higher, home ownership is lower, Israel is still a clusterfuck, North Korea and Iran are still threats, the debt is skyrocketing...

I didn't even vote for McCain or ANY Republican candidate for President in the primaries.. Hell, I'm a registered Democrat in the State of Florida.. Hell I'll post a copy of my voter registration card if you want.. That will be changing however.

There are tasks for local governments and tasks for federal government. Socialists feel that everything should be the task of the federal government. People against socialism favor the traditional system outlined in our constitution.
